Was quoted a price for a unit, no application filed and then took money
Ccontacted complex to inquire about prices and was quoted 1198 for Barcelona unit. I sent in 300 for an application and was given a unit number. Received a call the next day stating that the unit was already rented and offered a new unit that was 200 dollars more a month. I refused new offer and told that manager would contact me. Waited 2 days and no call. Called 20 times to speak to an individual. Once I spoke a person I was told that a refund would take place within 48 hours. Called following morning to find out would take more than 30 days. I never applied for an apartment, but they took my money anyway.
Immediate refund. Shotty business practices questioned.
As with any other applicant, we are only able to reserve a unit once we have an application AND application fees paid. Although you had filled out an application online, we did not receive the application fees from you until 6:46pm that night after our office had already closed. Between the time that you filled out your application and had paid your fees, someone else came by the office to pay for the apartment and fill out an application. The following day when we arrived and saw your online payment, you were notified that the unit was no longer available and our leasing agent informed you of other units we had available.
Per our corporate policy, application fees are held for 30 days to ensure funds do not bounce/are not returned first. You will receive your refund in the mail in 30 days.
