*** called to order rentals from us and was told we would initially hold her date for hours as we requested her to get permission from her wedding venue for us to pick up the items the next business day as we charge more if we have to send someone back out the same day late at night
She agreed and called back the next day saying the venue said it was ok A non refundable deposit was made at that time and the rentals were secured for her for her date When the client called to cancel the order she initially said the venue would no longer allow her to have the chairs I reminded her that the deposit was non refundable and our policies are in place that way because that inventory was held for her and during that time we could not rent them to anyone else since she SECURED them for her event I suggested she call the venue and remind them they were the ones that authorized the booking She said ok and hung up.Five minutes later her dad called back and asked me to cancel the order and that he was the one paying for it I asked him if he was the one that made the deposit and he said no I explained to him that I could only speak to the person who placed the order When he hung up the client called back again and I reiterated our policies to her and I also told her as a courtesy I would not hold her to the remainder of the order, the deposit was still non refundable but she didn't have to pay the balance In addition I told her if by chance I could re rent the items for the same day that I would give her a partial refund on the deposit She said she wanted to keep the order and then hung up.Not another minutes later someone claiming to be a lawyer called and was asking questions about the booking I asked him to please have the client call me as I could not speak to him He said why? He also told me she just didn't want the chairs anymore then hung up.Again the bride calls and admits she was dishonest, that the venue really didn't tell her she couldn't have them, that she just didn't want them and to again cancel the order.I placed a call to the venue myself that night to also ensure the venue in fact never told her she couldn't have them.Our policies are in place are for a number of reasons we held chairs aside for her and couldn't rent them to anyone else
