I am rejecting this response because: The statement from [redacted] is filled with untrue statements First off, he never personally performed any of the service except writing up a contract and taking money from us We initially gave [redacted] a check for $1,to show good faith that we were going to hire him A few weeks later, another check was given to [redacted] for $4,before the work started [redacted] asked me to write the check out to him verses writing it out to American River Painting I saw no problem with this and did as he requestedAfter he received the $4,check from me, he disappeared for several weeks His subcontractor [redacted] began painting and started telling stories about [redacted] on his first day of painting He initially asked us if we had heard from [redacted] because he couldn't get in touch with him He told us how [redacted] has a history of "taking money and disappearing." He told us of drug use, etc He also told us that [redacted] had only given him $to pay for paint supplies He then began hinting that we were going to have to give him the money for the rest of the work, verses *** This appeared to be a scam from the onset of the project When [redacted] finally did come by our house, over a month later, he showed up with ***, unannounced I told him I was extremely unhappy with the job that was performed and the the entire experience of dealing with himI told him we were now done with him and wished to have no more contact with himAlong with the problems identified by the attached pictures, we also had a great deal of paint chips that were left on our property, including our roof, that I had to personally take care of In closing, my wife found [redacted] through Homeadvisor.com Based on this fact, we thought he would be a safe choice Obviously after trusting Homeadvisor.com and not doing our due diligence, we got what we got, a person who represented a business and cannot be trusted

I spoke with Mr*** he didn’t express any concerns regarding the quality of the work he was satisfied with the work completed on the contractWe finished everything he wanted doneI asked is there anything he wanted fixed, he said he didn’tThe reason for him not paying was that he lost his job the previous month and did not have any money to pay me withThere were no complaints about quality or serviceHe simply didn’t want to pay

I am rejecting this response because: The statement from [redacted] is filled with untrue statements.  First off, he never personally performed any of the service except writing up a contract and taking money from us.  We initially gave [redacted] a check for $1,000 to show good faith that we were going to hire him.  A few weeks later, another check was given to [redacted] for $4,000 before the work started.  [redacted] asked me to write the check out to him verses writing it out to American River Painting.  I saw no problem with this and did as he requested. After he received the $4,000 check from me, he disappeared for several weeks.  His subcontractor [redacted] began painting and started telling stories about [redacted] on his first day of painting.  He initially asked us if we had heard from [redacted] because he couldn't get in touch with him.  He told us how [redacted] has a history of "taking money and disappearing."  He told us of drug use, etc.  He also told us that [redacted] had only given him $500 to pay for paint supplies.  He then began hinting that we were going to have to give him the money for the rest of the work, verses [redacted].  This appeared to be a scam from the onset of the project.  When [redacted] finally did come by our house, over a month later, he showed up with [redacted], unannounced.  I told him I was extremely unhappy with the job that was performed and the the entire experience of dealing with him. I told him we were now done with him and wished to have no more contact with him. Along with the problems identified by the attached pictures, we also had a great deal of paint chips that were left on our property, including our roof, that I had to personally take care of.  In closing, my wife found [redacted] through Homeadvisor.com.  Based on this fact, we thought he would be a safe choice.  Obviously after trusting Homeadvisor.com and not doing our due diligence, we got what we got, a person who represented a business and cannot be trusted.
