I ordered a pair of boots that were apparently "custom made", I guess because I picked the toe of the boot that I preferred. When I finally received my boots, I opened the box and smelt paint. Not fresh new leather, not to mention my foot did not even slide in the boot. I returned the boots and heard nothing back from the company. Over $375 and not one word from them. Very disappointed!

We are so sorry that the finish was not to your liking and as described it is likely there was extra over spray on the boots that shipped directly to you from the factory. Ordered a pair of boots “in stock”. A week later, I get an email saying that the order was cancelled because they didn’t have enough inventory to fill it. I check the website and the boots are still “in stock”. What a scam! Now I’m concerned about my credit card information.

Thank you for your feedback. As we discussed we were having a problem with our edi inventory feed and it has been corrected. Inventory errors are a rare thing but do unfortunately happen on occasion. As you know we always do our very best to offer as many options as possible in the unfortunate event occurs (including of course always option of immediate refund!). There is no one that hates a missed sale than us so please forgive us for this error but rest assured that it is very rare.

I purchased a pair of boots on 02/11/2019. when I received them they were too small so I was told to send them back. it has been 29 days and they still have not given me credit . I have call several times and I just get a recording. I have left messages and emails several times and no one has contacted me yet and still no credit.

We just discovered what happened. The US Postal Service did not deliver the boots to us until 3/11 so they were just processed as a return yesterday. The US Postal service service has been getting worse and worse and they did not deliver the boots to our offices as they should. We just refunded the order and please accept our apologies on behalf of the US Postal service and please do not hold this against us. We respectfully request that you remove this complaint. Thank you.

I've purchased boots from this place in past but this last order was a disaster.
The boots I received were defective, one was wider that the other and when I called they gave me the run around. They asked me to return them and if they thought their was something wrong with them they would credit my account and pay the freight in return.
I did that and followed their return instructions and they only paid a portion of the return cost and took almost 3 weeks to refund my money on the purchase of the defective boots.
They were rude when I asked them to refund the full amount of the shipping and they excuse was 'We Can't Afford It' B.S. !!!
LAST TIME I buy from them !!!

As we shared with the customer during this process, our returns process is such that we inspect items that are claimed to be defects when we receive them and provide a $20.00 reimbursement for return shipping for items that were found to be defective. As we have found previously, we did not find any defect in the boots however we still provided $20.00 reimbursement for return shipping and that did not satisfiy the customer. He wanted us to reimburse $45.00 for return shipping which was way more than it costs to ship a pair of boots via ground shipping. This customer extorted us and we do not appreciate it ourselves. We provide clear guidelines for returns and this customer was not happy with our policies.

I ordered a pair of *** boot from Cowboy Chief, With out looking at some online reviews. I got a little nerves that I may have made an expensive mistake.
After a couple of days my boots shipped and I received them on time.
I got a great pair of boots at a great price. I would and will buy from CC again.

These guys advertise themselves as the top experts in *** boots and I have to say, I have bought a lot of *** boots over the years and no one knows as much as they do. They were able to answer every question I had and even offered to set up a factory tour for me. Top notch and they have my business from now on.

I ordered my *** boots July 30, 2018 and now it is November 21, 2018.I paid up front and was told all orders were 100% guaranteed. Also, I contacted Cowboy Chief for an update in October 2018and at that time I was informed the leather and color were on back order. Now it is six weeks later. No boots as of yet! I contacted Cowboy Chief repeatedly by phone and by email. Excuses with every response. I told Mike in customer sales that I felt as if was being scammed, his response was," scammers do not answer the phone." I was promised a tracking number by November 17, 2018 from Cowboy Chief from *** and as of today - nothing!

As we told this customer SOOOOO many times. Sometimes Made To Order *** Boots take some extra time EXACTLY as this one did. These shipped yesterday via *** Tracking *** , ironically the same day the customer opened a credit card chargeback. Despite giving this customer their internal order number at *** and the phone number the factory, he was almost totally predisposed to the fact that he was getting scammed. This customer should NEVER AGAIN order Made to Order boots.

We got a pair of boots we weren't happy with and wished to return. After over 2 months of back and forth emails, following their instructions, we agree to return them . (Boots were tight, uncomfortable and not exactly what we ordered. ) once they receive our returned item they say they cant take them back, even after all details had been previously discussed through emails, which we have proof. After our last email, we haven't even heard back in a week and now they have the returned boots and our money.

I read the reviews regarding Cowboy Chief. In their defense, I have to say that I have dealt with this business many times over the past eight to ten years. I have never had an issue with contacting them. I have never telephoned them, however always sent an email (for reference). Almost always, they respond to me by email within 24 hours. I am very familiar with ***, not an expert, but close to it. I have purchased many off the shelf and custom made boots from them (***) over many years. Several through Cowboy Chief. My advice to potential customers: If at all possible, please go to a store that sells ***. Try on several pair in several sizes until you get the fit you desire. You may have to go to a wider width or a narrow width. You may have to go one size down or one size up. *** Classics (Made in the USA) fit differently than the *** that are Made in Mexico. If a store is not available in your area, have someone measure your feet, length, width, across the top of your foot, etc., all angles, etc. Measure both feet. This may help *** get that fit correct the first time (especially for a custom made pair). Keep in mind, if your feet tend to swell at times (like mine), please consider going to a wider width or go to a 1/2 or a full size up. I figured that out years ago. I see that some reviews have particular problems with the process, however, Cowboy Chief has always been professional with me and I have no complaints about their process, customer service or after receiving the product. Once you get that perfect size figured out for your particular feet, give Cowboy Chief the opportunity to give you the best price out there. Most importantly for me is that they have given me fantastic prices on custom made boots over the last several years. This is my honest appraisal of this business. I hope this information provides prospective buyers some confidence and relieve their anxieties about purchasing. You cannot make everyone happy all the time but I am certain Cowboy Chief tries.

I ordered a pair of *** boots from Cowboy Chief on November 27. They arrived in 6 weeks as promised, but were too small. I returned the boots and CC promptly processed my return and reorder on January 29. I contacted CC at 6 weeks, 9 weeks, and 11 weeks inquiring when the new boots would be shipped. Though always polite, they had no clue. In 5 months of waiting for my boots to arrive, I never did get anyone at CC to answer the phone. At one point, their outgoing message said their phone support was "closed until March 20". Not surprising, except that it was then April 16! My belief is that CC has no call center, but they never failed to respond to my emails in an acceptable timeframe. Would I order from CC again? Probably not. My belief is that CC is a very small "garage" business that simply takes and forwards an order to the manufacturer for fulfillment.

While we appreciate and agree with *** review, there are some explanations / corrections that we need to be made aware:
1) The reason for the wait on the pair of boots that were the EXCHANGED for pair (2nd pair) was that they were flagged as FACTORY DEFECT in the final inspection process so the factory had to build a new pair. We are so sorry for that delay but we cannot control that in any way, that is a Lucchese factory issue. We are, however, very sorry for the hassle this caused you.
2) We do in fact have a "call center", though it is just our small business answering our phones. We are NOT ***. We are not a "garage" business, however we do have have operators standing by 24 hours a day to answer our phone lines. During a busy day it may be hard to get someone to answer the phone live however we always follow up with any messages in one business day.
As you stated, we always responded to your emails as well. We care very much about customer service and are very disappointed by how disappointed you were in our service which you admit is pretty good but just not the way you would prefer.
You are correct also that we specialize in MADE TO ORDER boots which very few other retailers in the World do for Lucchese Boots. Again it is important to note that we are NOT *** and do not operate at "Prime" like delivery times.

Bought Boots. They never shipped them to me. Charged my card. When I filed a dispute with my credit card company, they gave the CC company erroneous information to say they shipped them to me. They are a fraud and scammers. I am being forced to cancel my credit card, since a CC company *** that I have been with for almost 10 years doesn't have my back, even thou I have PROOF via *** tracking that they didn't get sent to me.
Don't do business with *** or with COWBOY CHIEF.

This is a totally fictitious review. We have been in business for 10 years, have thousands of totally satisfied customers. We provided the information that we were asked to submit. We are always available to assist our customers, though as we have said before, we are more of a "Mom and Pop" operation than an Amazon.com operation. I ordered two pairs of boots on December 19, 2016. Order No. ***. I received the first pair of the order on March 28, 2017, several weeks after the advertised delivery time. However, the style of the boots' toe was not what I had ordered. After contacting Cowboy Chief to return the boots, they emailed me a return slip and I returned the first pair of boots via ***, signature required, to the address specified on the return slip. I have proof of delivery from ***.

After returning the first pair of boots, I contacted Cowboy Chief to cancel the second pair of boots before they shipped. Cowboy Chief emailed me a confirmation that the second pair of boots was canceled. Nevertheless, Cowboy Chief shipped the second pair of boots despite my request to cancel the order.

According to *** records, the second boot shipment was tendered to a *** Office location in Austin, TX on May 9, 2016, and held for recipient pick up. I refused to accept delivery and the boots were returned from the *** Office on May 16, 2016, to the original shipper. According to *** records, the boots were delivered to the original shipper in El Paso, TX on May 19, 2016.

Both pairs of boots in order # *** have been timely returned to Cowboy Chief in the same condition in which they were received. I have proof of delivery for both shipments. Despite numerous requests to complete my refund, Cowboy Chief has yet to issue me a refund. Cowboy Chief has not disputed that I should receive a refund. They are simply slow with their correspondence. Cowboy Chief has not responded to my last two emails nor returned a voice message I left on their phone. Because I have no confidence that they will reply to my correspondence or issue me a timely refund, I am filing this compliant with the Revdex.com.
