I am adamantly rejecting this excuse for refusal of tax preperation by the Cowen Group.  On their web site; various handouts and printouts,  they specifically state that federal and state taxes(50+) would be done for $79 without any stipulations.  We are not investment clients, but nowhere in their literature does it state that you have to be in order to get the $79 tax fee.  We believe that the advertised price is a contract and not honoring would be dishonest and deceitful.  We believe in truth and honesty in advertising,  so if you don"t mean it,  DON"T SAY IT!
Addendum:    WE made and were given an early appt. and two days later we were cancelled....now and forever     [redacted]

Review: My wife and I have been using the services from this company for federal and state taxes for the past three yearsOn Monday 12/09/I called and was given an apptaround the middle of February to have or taxes done( this company advertises on their web site and various handouts and publications that they provide a "complete tax preparation (both federal and Ct state) for $for ages 50+Almost immediately I received a letter dated 12/09/stating that ("We are sorry to inform you that effective immediately we will no longer be able to continue preparing your taxes or provide accounting services this year or going forward")We have never had any previous issues over our tax preparations in the pastTheir ads are straight and forward about the $fee, but they won't honor our request for tax prep this year.Desired Settlement: cease and desist any advertising
