Re: Complaint #*** *** ***, complainant.Dear Ms***:This responds to your inquiry into the above-captioned matter.Mr*** had contacted the Credit Union to complain of a missed loan paymentWe researched his account information and immediately waived the late fee, as being
inappropriate. However, our research revealed that he had previously established a loan repayment method which was, at best, unorthodoxAt his request, an Allegent employee had agreed, of her own volition, to accept Mr***'s required monthly payments to Allegent, as they became due, via his debit card from another financial institutionThe Allegent employee, who is no longer with Allegent, was trying to accommodate Mr*** simultaneously with discharging her duties as the account manager.Needless to say, this approach was not contemplated by our systems guidelines, and when the account manager left her employment with Allegent, Allegent had no indication that such a system was in placeHence the delinquencyWe did later explain to Mr*** that several payment options exist, viz: in person; Internet Banking; shared Branching; via mail; or, a recurring automatic payment with his primary financial institution.Mr*** requested that the entire delinquent payment be waived; however, his legal obligation to make the total monthly payments, in the amount and within the time contractually prescribed, remainsThe fact that a former Allegent employee attempted to accommodate his unorthodox payment method in no way vitiates this basic fact. The foregoing notwithstanding, we are prepared to send to Mr*** a $gift certificate, in our sincere hope that this unfortunate incident be relegated to the position of a minor matter. If you have any questions, please contact the undersigned at the above address and number.Very truly yours, Edward *P*** *** Chair, Supervisory CommitteeAllegent Community Federal Credit Union

This e mail is in response to our phone conversation. I moved on October 19th 2016 and due to that I didn't get my previous letters from the Revdex.com and that lead to my case to be closed. My issue with the cerdit union started when they called me in October of 2016 telling me that my car's September payment was late. At that time I was closing on my new house (first time buyer) and I was so nervous about my credit and how that late payment might affect me. I told them that that was not possible, since my payments were deducted every month from my bank account. I told them that I had talked to Rose (the lady who was responsible of taking my payments on the phone) and she told me that I could give her my debit card info and she'll make sure that the payments are deducted every month. I had that going for over a year or a year and a half. I was never told that she wasn't supposed to do that or anything, I thought it was a normal procedure that was done at the credit union. When I said that, the lady that I was talking to told me she was going to check with her manager to see what was going on. She called me back saying that she found it in the notes and that Rose was not supposed to do that. She said that she was canceling the late charge but I am responsible to make the payment because IT WAS MY FAULT. I told her that it was the credit union's fault and that they should show some kind of responsibility. She, then, told me that it WOULD NEVER HAPPEN and that it was my fault and I should consider myself lucky they had to cancel the late fee. I told her that I wanted to speak with a manager because of how rude she was to me. She told me that the manager was not available. I had to call again and ask for the manager and she wasn't any nicer than the other lady. They all just kept blaming me for not checking or paying my car payment (I hadn't checked my payments on over a year because it was always taken automatically out of my account). I reached out the Revdex.com because I don't think customers should be insulted and treated that way. If a business makes a mistake they need to rectify it and own up to it. They caused me a lot of frustration and stress especially during a new house closing time. I know they wanted to offer me a $100 gift card (I read that in their response to your letter). In my opinion I think the best way to solve this situation is for the credit union to make one full payment ($385) towards my car loan. That way they will show me that they care and own up to their mistake. [redacted]
