cowherd is the worst company to rent from they dont care about there homes and do minimal work on them we rent from them for years and they never properly fixed any problem in there home you can see by the build of there homes they cut corners and dont care about how it will hold up in the long run then when you move out they try to charge you over the top prices for painting which they do themselfs and not very well I should add I would not ever recommend renting, buying, or having them do any kind of work on your home

I was a tenant of a property managed by Cowherd between May 2014-December 2015. During that time the staff in the office maintained a rude and arrogant attitude toward my roommate and I.
After living there for about 6 months, the bath tub upstairs started leaking. The result was water dripping from the ceiling downstairs. The "fix" by maintenance was a little spray paint on the ceiling to cover the stains created by the leak. As you might imagine, the stain/ leak came back. This problem was addressed a few times during my stay there, the problem was never truly fixed.
Another issue that I encountered, was partially my fault, but was poorly handled by them. Rent was late by 11 days. The check for rent had been placed in the mail, but had not arrived to them. WIthout any warning, I received a call at 1pm notifying me that if the payment wasn't received by the end of the day they would begin eviction proceedings. This day happened to be a national holiday, therefore nearly impossible to obtain the cashiers check they were requiring. I was able to get one, thank God for Walmart.
When I was ready to move, my roommate chose to stay at that house for a little longer. I moved out on December 31, 2015. Because I filled out the paperwork to take me off the lease in November 2015 and dated it for my last day there. I asked to clarify that that would be the last bit of information that I would have to fill out, and that after December 31 I would no longer be associated with that lease or their company. So, on September 26, 2016 when I received a call from my former roommate notifying me that I had to send a notarized letter stating that I relinquish my rights to the check, I was a bit surprised. What I found out upon calling the company is that they had failed to fill out the appropriate paperwork and I had been on the lease for the past 9 months. They proceeded to try to blame it on my former roommate stating that he didn't fill out a new lease, therefore it was his fault. However in January he took his new roommate in to be added to the lease, and instead they added the new roommate as a cosigner instead. In my opinion as a tenant, he did his part. The staff should have seen that I was no longer on the lease, and added two and two together that a new lease needed to be signed. While this isn't a huge problem, it could have been. If they would have missed a payment, and been evicted, that would have shown up on my credit too. That is a big mess up if you ask me!
