From: *** Grossman *** *** *** *** *** *** **
*** ** *** KY Revdex.com, This particular complaint is not as straight forward as most because Grossman Tuning LLC never performed any work on the vehicle in question or the component in question (turbo charger)
belonging to Mr***. The turbo was shipped to us, we inspected it and suggested it be looked at by Diesel Injection Services, a *** Turbo authorized dealer and service departmentAfter looking at the turbo Diesel Injection Services suggested to replace or rebuild the unit, we passed on the recommendations to Mr*** at which time he opted for the rebuilt unitWe had them do the work and shipped the unit back to Mr *** along with paper work Several weeks later Mr *** contacted us stating he was having the same issue as before the rebuild. Again he shipped unit back to us , we took back to Diesel Injection Service for inspection. DIS inspected the unit and stated it failed do to oil contamination and there for would not be covered under warranty. They offered to repair unit again at a reduced cost Again Grossman Tuning LLC never did any work to the vehicle or the turbo so I can not testify to condition of the vehicle or the turbo in this matter. My cents, for what it is worth. In my plus years of servicing turbo charged vehicles I rarely see turbos fail for no reason. Nearly all turbos that fail do so because of oil related issues ranging from oil quality to oil pressureMy experience when more than one turbo has failed in a very short amount of time it is due to an oil pressure problem caused by a blocked feed or return oil line going to the turbo. That being said if the car was in my possession I would first check those components before replacing a turbo and change oil with high quality oil Grossman Tuning has done everything we can do to help resolve this problem, communicating with both Mr *** and Diesel Injection Service. The warranty lies with Diesel Injection and there for they are the only ones able to authorize warranty of parts or service Please advise me if you would like further documentation on this matter *** Grossman Grossman Tuning LLC ***

The parts were never defective. Boost setting as well as the installation was done incorrectly had these OEM PARTS BEEN INSTALLED CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO FAILURE.  WHEN U HAVE MULTIPLE PARTS FAILING OF DIFFERNET SORTS THERES A COMMON FACTOR INCOLVED WHICH IS THE INSTALLING PARTY NOT ALL THE DIFFERENT PARTS.  TAKJNG RESPONSIBILTY AS A COMPANY N OENING UP TO THEIR MOSTAKES WOULD BE ONE THING BUT TIME AND TIME AGAIN CONTINUING TO BLAME OEM PARTS WHETHER THEY BE BROUGHT IN BY THE CUSTOMER OR THE BUSINESS IS SILLY.  EVERY PART THEY HAVE INSTALLED HAS DAMN NEAR FAILED OR HAD TO BE TURNED ATOUND N REPLACED. AS FAR AS THE HEAD GASKET I WAS AWARE OF THIS LEAK N GROSSMAN HAD TO REPAIR THE HEAD GASKET AFTER HAVING TO REMOVE THE HEADS AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE TO REPLACE WHAT DAMAGE WAS CAUSED. THE OIL CANISTER I ASKED TO BE REPLACED AND HAVE NO PROBLEM PAYING FOR. THE THINKING WAS IF GROSSMAN HAD TO FIX THEIR MISTAKES THEN MIGHT AS WELL FIX THAT WHILE THEY HAD THE MOTOR APART.  I HAVE NO PROBLEM PAYING FOR THAT part of the service.  I have been more than lenient and patient as my car has to be in their shop almost every 3 months after service if not sooner. You have placed used parts from other cars at Grossman on my vehicle i.e. Cam chain cover. And expect me n pay for new parts. Hence why I have previously brought my own OEM PARTS as wel as asked for the old ones in order to see the actual damage or need of replacement. I have lost complete faith as well as trust in this business. Their are to many screw ups and half [redacted] work being done. Using super glue to hold clips that weren't broken before on is obsured as well as many other things. See att.

I understand that Grossman Tuning did not repair the turbo and that they sublet the repair to Diesel Injection Services. When I originally contacted Grossman I asked them if they rebuild turbochargers and they said yes. Until there was an issue with the repair Diesel Injection Services was never mentioned to me. Regardless of who made the repair I paid Grossman for the repair and Grossman promised me a warranty (the same warranty that a new [redacted] turbo would carry). After the turbo was inspected Grossman informed me that it could not be rebuilt because the components were far too worn and that being so worn was why the seals were leaking oil (the original issue). I was told that my options were to replace the core/center cartridge of the turbo or replace the entire unit. I was told that replacing the core would be a more cost efficient repair and would carry the same warranty as a new [redacted] turbo. Rebuilding the turbo was made very clear to me as an unviable option and I questioned this and even asked to speak with the technician. I was never able to speak with the technician working on the turbo, almost as if they were hiding the fact that they were not conducting the repair in house. I was then told again that the turbo could not be rebuilt because of how worn out it was. I spoke with many people about this including the shop that I bought it from and posting in a [redacted] group as to what was going to be done with the turbo and will likely be able to provide statements if need be. After being told the turbo would not be able to be warranties because of oil contamination I personally spoke with a [redacted] representative and after she gathered information from Diesel Injection Services she informed me that there was no warranty on the turbo through [redacted] regardless of why the turbo failed. This completely contradicted what Grossman had promised me.
DIS informed me that the turbo failed due to contaminated oil and assured me that if I drained my oil through a coffee filter I would find a large amount of metal shavings. I paid a local automotive performance shop to drain the oil through a filter over a magnet to be certain that any and all metal particles would be captured. I also requested that a sample of the oil be sent off to WIX for an oil analysis. The oil analysis came back recently and concluded that the oil in the vehicle did not contain any metal particles that would lead to the destruction of a turbo. I have provided Grossman and DIS with a copy of the analysis. I have proven that the oil, which was assumed to be the cause of the turbo's failure, was not contaminated with metal.
The statement by [redacted] Grossman "Grossman Tuning has done everything we can do to help resolve this problem, communicating with both Mr [redacted] and Diesel Injection Service." May be the most absurd lie I have ever heard. Grossman Tuning has not done all they could to help the situation, they in fact did the absolute least amount they could. I have made probably over 20 phone calls to Grossman Tuning trying to get a hold of the owner, left countless messages and have received absolutely 0 response until his response through the Revdex.com. I tried to give him the chance to remedy the situation without me having to file a complaint but I have been left no other choice because I have been blatantly ignored for months on end. Due to this my car has sat idle and I have been forced to pay for towing and storage. Although Grossman did not do the work, they were the ones that took my money, lied and gave me a completely different product than what I paid for and lied about a warranty. ]

Mr [redacted] knows our warranty inclusions and exclusions. He has brought us used defective parts several times before. These can be seen in the first 3 attachments. He knows we do not warranty parts customers bring in (especially if they are used) and we do not warranty anything over a year old. He knew his car needed a head gasket and the oil stand that was replaced on his current ticket. He has known he needed these items replaced several months in advance. We have warrantied all of the items that we did replace that failed when he had repairs done to his car the last time it was here. In addition to everything we warrantied, we gave him a 20% discount. As you can see on the third invoice for the labor replacing his turbo (he brought in faulty parts), we also gave him a discount. We have been accommodating to him both of these times, even though he is always extremely rude and a discount wasn't warranted for the work. In closing, we have replaced and warrantied the work recently performed, that failed, and gave him a discount in addition to the warranty.

[redacted]   The labor that is being charged is the direct result from parts services the first time the car...

was in the shop to be serviced for a noise behind the motor.  There were the same codes being thrown from the car as the day I picked it up and when I went to go check on the car on 10/20/16. Grossman claims that the failure was due to a part not under warranty when in fact I have receipts showing the parts were removed and replaced. See attachments. The videos provided also show before and after the first service was completed and the motor still making the same noise.  Catastrophic failure occurred due to the fact this problem was not taken care of the first time.
