Tell us why here...I am the owner of Cozy Pet and am responding to this complaint. I run a very professional grooming shop and all my Groomers are trai ed and qualitified to groom all breed dogs, including small dogs. This customer was told that her dog was matted and that yes, it would have to be... shaved down short. When dogs have such tight matting it is very differcult to see if any skin is pulled up with the twisted hair which can catch in the blade when being shaved. The groomer was very careful and even though she was going very slow shaving the area that was cut, it happened as the matted fur had pulled the skin up in to the mat. The groomer called and told them that the dog had a cut and when the daughter came down to pick up the dog she, the groomer, told her that she could put neo cream on the cut and that she did mention to take the dog to the vet. I have cameras in all rooms and when playing it back the groomer did mention this to the girl that picked up the dog. Ofcourse we are upset if and when any dog gets a cut in the shop. Sadly it can happen and if it does we always inform the customer. Jess tried to talk to the dog's owner but all she did was scream at her and threaten her. We pride ourselves in caring for every dog that comes to our shop. We don't turn them away if their dog is matted like some other shops do. We do what is best for the dog and explain what we are going to do to our customers. I have no cage shop,a one-on-one service, hand drying only and an open window in to every groomer's room so that anyone came see and hear what is going on during all groomings.
