This job has been cancelled, so it is a moot point.

The initial window did not fit into the window opening properly. Rather than trying to chop away at the opening and make the window fit, our company remanufactured an entire window at no cost to the customer for the purpose of installing the unit. The unit has been made. This is not a...

reason to ask for a refund.

I am rejecting this response because: It was agreed that resolution would occur only after 9/29/15 with a repair of my windows.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  I called the company twice and the 1st time was told the individual was not available to speak with.  The 2nd time was Friday, 12/5/14 and after 20 minutes of waiting, I was told the managers were not available but my paperwork would be given to them.  I have no faith in Castle Windows or their lifetime warranties.  Their workers do subpar work and I'm not losing anymore time from work to let them mess up things further.  If they want to see pictures of the obvious poor workmanship,  I would be glad to show them.  As I said before, I rather settle this matter sooner (out of court) than later (at court).  Just call me and let get it settled so we are both happy.  Believe me they would be embarrassed to say they paid thousands of dollars for this type of work.  An independent contractor also agrees that it is subpar for a company that claims to be a window people company with the top remodeler award.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I received a call from Nick the [redacted] 2 days after submitting. He couldn't have been more understanding and apologetic, which I appreciate. He scheduled a technician for the same day who was on time as well as in and out within an hour. The tech was fantastic and very helpful with some other concerns I had with the mechanical type windows that I have.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: We specifically asked if there would be a problem in replacing the bathroom glass blocks with a window.  We were advised on 2 occasions that it would not be a problem.  It is since it is leaking.  If Castle windows is willing to replace the double hung with a window that is stationary (can't open)  at their cost, we would be agreeable to this resolution.  I also suspect that the window is leaking more than just outside.  I suspect that it also affected the interior wall.  This type of window should never have been installed on a wall with a shower.

chris,  after looking at the customers complaint we sold the customer a double hung window inside of the shower,we ran a service to look at the window on novemeber 10 reported as a window leak. what we found was water was getting onto the window sill most likley at the...

meeting rail area and I would think at the tilt latch however the water is not coming back inside it is exiting thru the weep holes under the screen (which is the way its supposed to go). in speaking with john who spoke with the customer he is unhappy that the water is running down the capping and wall on outside, the only other solution  is to pull window out and put in a deadlite.  The window is acting as designed, so the only solution woudl be to change the design.  Please let us know what the client woudl like to do... thanks ed

ok, I believe that we did go out and visit with the client

I am rejecting this response because: I have included a copy of the certified letter we sent in October 11,  2014 and also have the 20+ photos of the problems with the project, unfortunately the Revdex.com web form doesn’t seem to want to cooperate so I can’t attach any.  I'm not sure what it is that you don't understand about this complaint.  The entire siding job needs to be done properly.  This means…all the siding taken off the house and new (or the salvageable siding) put back on the house.  You cannot drive nails through siding as it needs to be able to expand and contract with temperature changes.  Additionally, nails are to be driven into studs and not just the sheathing of the house, one look in our crawl space or shed and you can see quite clearly that this was not done.  That most likely is a contributing factor to the siding falling off the house.  This also means you cannot glue or caulk siding into place.  The previous attempts at fixing the problems have failed.  The only way to address the current issues is to completely redo the job.  We have been trying to deal with having pieces fixed as they fall off the house but this is totally unacceptable as it has been going on since the crew "finished" our job.   "To Whom It May Concern:   On October 1, 2013 Ms. [redacted] entered into an agreement with your company to have 7 windows and the siding on our home replaced. We are writing to request that our siding project be properly redone on our home.   The contracted crew started the siding job the week before Christmas 2013and took until March 27, 2014 to mostly complete the project.  We are still waiting for shutters on our shed.  The estimated time to complete the project was 7 days. We allowed the crew to keep the material inside one of our garages for the winter.  Considering it was arguably one of the coldest winters in recent memory perhaps the job should have been delayed until spring, but we were assured by the salesmen who sold the job that the temperature would not be an issue.  Following is a list of problems with installation:  the siding was installed on our shed without the foam backing, aluminum flashing was used in place of J-Channel on one part of the house, the proper foam backing was not applied to the whole house (particularly along the top run of siding), several of the trim pieces for our electrical boxes do not stay on properly, the siding was not hung properly (as evident by the buckling and popping off of pieces of siding), light fixtures were screwed directly to the siding in 2 places, the bottom row of siding is pulling away from the house and or buckled out in several places, and the wires running down the sides of the house were not covered as we were told they would be.   We have called for service on at least five separate occasions for siding falling off of our home.  And by that I mean siding has fallen off at least five times.  It has taken more than one call in most of these cases to actually get the pieces put back on.  The head of the install crew, Casey, even came out to make sure the top row was properly fastened, but still it falls off.  Currently we have two pieces of siding laying on the ground and another one that needs replaced as it was bent when it would have fallen off the house if it wasn’t attached behind a light fixture.  We welcome you or one of your representatives to come to our home and assess for yourself the poor quality we have been left with and our neighbors are forced to see.  We are willing to email you photographs of the job if that will expedite the process to getting our siding fixed.  You may contact us at the address listed above, via telephone at: [redacted]

Thank you for taking the time to send this customer complaint over to our company. We have in fact, been in communication with customers and this is the information that we have reviewed. The customer purchased white Windows and also white capping around the Windows. (This is what the customer...

is referring to as PVC).  Please note, that the 'PVC" has been installed according to contract, however the customer is stating that they now wish to have a different color. It does not appear is though the customer is disputing what they contracted for. They seem to be more upset about the price in order to change the job to a different color. Please note that we received Association approval to install the products that we had contracted with the client. The client was given a price of $1595 to remove the old capping and installed the new cap. We understand that the customer may be frustrated, but the materials used in the labor do represent an expense to our company and these are not things that were contracted. However, in the spirit of compromise, what we suggest we do is to split the cost with the customer 50/50... Instead of charging the customer 1595 we suggest that we charge them $797 to do this work.  Please note that at this point, we will be doing the installation at a loss, but we feel as though in order to keep the customer's goodwill, we would be willing to do so.

New longer windows are being ordered. Installation will include removal of old weights & insulation. The window sills will be installed to match the others on the exterior of the house and will have proper pitch .  If these commitments are met we will be satisfied.

After four months--and the possession of our full payment-- Castle has finally finished the work. The job should have been done professionally to begin with and has used a great deal of my time to rectify the poor quality and has caused inconvenience. We will not be using Castle's services in the future. The afternoon the work was done, Castle called twice--once to solicit our business!!! and the second time to check on our satisfaction. We were not home,so Castle called the next morning BEFORE 7 A.M. to see if we were happy. Place us on the "Do not call" list immediately.

The customer has screens on order with our company. The client has been a customer of over since 1994 it we have serviced them on several occasions-- it's odd that they would make a complaint that the warrantee does not hold up.We are sorry for any inconvenience, but we are fully abreast of the...

customers concerns.

I am rejecting this response because:
It is untrue.  They set up one appt. where we had to cancel and the other two times the man never showed up so they are wrong.  They are just trying to cover themselves.  They also told us 10/9 and then 10/16, and now 10/27 which I will wait and see if they show up.

I am rejecting this response because:
I am not rejecting the response...I just want to clarify a few points.  I will not give up my right to any future claims against Castle.  I do, however, agree to relinquish our right to any claim relating to the deceptive sales method that resulted in the sale of these doors in return for the $1000.  If, in the future, any defect in the manufacturing or installation of the windows or doors come to light we will still maintain our right to the promised lifetime warranty and the right to any claim that may result from future product or service issue that was not addressed or noted at this time.  Additionally, I agree to amend reviews to reflect the nature of our agreement and your attempt at resolving the issues.  The next issue is the issue of the improper charging of our credit card without our authorization.  It was never our intent to have the final balance put on the card that Castle used and they should never have kept that card number on file.  I would like to have the credit made to the [redacted] that was used and the discounted balance to be made to a card that [redacted] will call in with today.  To summarize, $10,854 will be credited to our [redacted] and $9,854 will be charged to the [redacted] that will be provided.  Once this is complete I will drop the issue.  It is sad that your company can have a deceptive salesman, installers that break items and do not acknowledge it, a billing department that illegally maintains private credit card information and lies to credit card companies to get their money, employees that take 2 months to resolve an issue and managers that use threats to try to resolve disputes and you can still believe that you did nothing wrong.  This whole series of incidents were not only bad service but at times crossed the line to illegal with the threats, lies and credit card fraud.  The behavior of your company and staff should be more closely monitored and you should not be flippant about the seriousness of these issues.  You may be able to intimidate others into tolerating this but you will not always be so lucky and others may go even further than I did.

Cudos to Castle / [redacted] Windows Operations Manager [redacted] .... Thank You for your prompt attention to my issue. The resolution is quite satisfactory - ordering full screens for our windows so we may fully enjoy all of the special features these windows offer. I do hope that your sales professionals will take this information and start assuming the sale of full screens and how they enhance the window features.

We have reordered service parts for this job on June 11, we will let the client know when they arrived. Also, we will reach out to the customer to see if there's anything else that needs to be resolved.Castle

as cliche' as it sounds the installer did have troubles with his truck.  When this occurs, we try to send another crew but it is not always possible to do especially on a Saturday...(which seems to be when the client would like to be set for). Currently, we are set for this Saturday and all of...
