Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have included a copy of the certified letter we sent in October 11, and also have the 20+ photos of the problems with the project, unfortunately the Revdex.com web form doesn’t seem to want to cooperate so I can’t attach any I'm not sure what it is that you don't understand about this complaint The entire siding job needs to be done properly This means all the siding taken off the house and new (or the salvageable siding) put back on the house You cannot drive nails through siding as it needs to be able to expand and contract with temperature changes Additionally, nails are to be driven into studs and not just the sheathing of the house, one look in our crawl space or shed and you can see quite clearly that this was not done That most likely is a contributing factor to the siding falling off the house This also means you cannot glue or caulk siding into place The previous attempts at fixing the problems have failed The only way to address the current issues is to completely redo the job We have been trying to deal with having pieces fixed as they fall off the house but this is totally unacceptable as it has been going on since the crew "finished" our job "To Whom It May Concern: On October 1, Ms [redacted] entered into an agreement with your company to have windows and the siding on our home replacedWe are writing to request that our siding project be properly redone on our home The contracted crew started the siding job the week before Christmas 2013and took until March 27, to mostly complete the project We are still waiting for shutters on our shed The estimated time to complete the project was daysWe allowed the crew to keep the material inside one of our garages for the winter Considering it was arguably one of the coldest winters in recent memory perhaps the job should have been delayed until spring, but we were assured by the salesmen who sold the job that the temperature would not be an issue Following is a list of problems with installation: the siding was installed on our shed without the foam backing, aluminum flashing was used in place of J-Channel on one part of the house, the proper foam backing was not applied to the whole house (particularly along the top run of siding), several of the trim pieces for our electrical boxes do not stay on properly, the siding was not hung properly (as evident by the buckling and popping off of pieces of siding), light fixtures were screwed directly to the siding in places, the bottom row of siding is pulling away from the house and or buckled out in several places, and the wires running down the sides of the house were not covered as we were told they would be We have called for service on at least five separate occasions for siding falling off of our home And by that I mean siding has fallen off at least five times It has taken more than one call in most of these cases to actually get the pieces put back on The head of the install crew, Casey, even came out to make sure the top row was properly fastened, but still it falls off Currently we have two pieces of siding laying on the ground and another one that needs replaced as it was bent when it would have fallen off the house if it wasn’t attached behind a light fixture We welcome you or one of your representatives to come to our home and assess for yourself the poor quality we have been left with and our neighbors are forced to see We are willing to email you photographs of the job if that will expedite the process to getting our siding fixed You may contact us at the address listed above, via telephone at: [redacted] Regards, [redacted]
