The facts of the situation are as follows:The Galaxy Sphone was brought in to us on 12/19/with an LCD that was outThat means there was no picture or lightThis was the result of damage to the LCD, as would occur after the phone is dropped .The phone was brought back to us about two
weeks later, again with the LCD outThe screen was black .This again would be the result of damage to the LCDIn fact, there was a crack visible on the LCD.The customer''s wife, ***, brought in the phone and stated that the phone was notfunctioning properly from the day it was picked up; it was not responding to touch in some areas. There was no way to verify this at the time it was brought in since the screen was black.My point in noting that there was no phone call back to the store to let us know there was a problem is that we had no idea that there was a problem with the phone until it was brought back into the store brokenWe would have made note of the call and we would have asked that the phone be hand led very carefully until the phone could be brought back in.I am not only a business owner but also a consumer; if I had my car repaired, say a transmission repair, and when I get it back and start driving I notice that it is still not changing gears appropriately I would call the mechanic to report this as soon as I could.Our warranty on the part is not the same thing as insurance .Part functional ity is covered, not damageIt does not matter how the damage occurs and if it is known what happened to the phone to cause it to breakOur vendor will not return our money for the part or replace it because it is damaged.Our vendor will not negotiate on this even if we tell them that the customer said it wasn't working from the beginning Our receipt states on it that subsequent damage is not covered.beginning Our receipt states on it that subsequent damage is not covered.The closest analogy that I can think of is ifa person would take in a television for repair and then after a period of time take it back with a cracked screen and allege that the television was not functioning correctly from the time it was picked up.We are willing to take a loss on this repair and refund ***'s money in total for the repair. We are not willing to do the repair again as it was felt that the repair done on 12/19/was substandard and/or the part was faultyA refund of the money will allow *** *** to have his phone repaired elsewhereWe strongly recommend that *** *** invest in insurance on this phone or any phones purchased in the future.One final note:I emailed back and forward with *** *** quite a few times, I feel like this was borderline harrassmentThe final insinuation was that a free repeat repair was desiredAs noted above, we are not willing to do this
