Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/03/28) */
On March 5, 2014, Mr*** was clearly having troubles at our entry gate, which was causing a backlog of other vehicles from entering through, to access their storage unitsBy the time I had noticed Mr***, there were three
cars that had been lined up behind himIn an effort to clear traffic, I went to the entry gate, and noticed Mr*** was clearly trying to remember what his code was in order to enterI informed Mr*** that I was going to allow him into the entry gate and would meet him behind the gate to help him with his codeI then entered in my own code at the keypad, which essentially would allow the gate to open up for Mr*** to pull his car into the back parking lot, which then would clear up the cars behind him, allowing them access as wellMr*** instantly took offense to my comment which caught me by complete surprise, when he automatically started to swear at me, saying he was being talked down to, and it was a constant "F this and F that and F you, and accused me of being rudeI informed Mr*** that I really was trying to help himHe continued to swear at me, at which point I walked away, because he clearly was not reciprocal of my assistanceI then informed the other customers that were behind him that they may need to park and enter the facility through our office doorThe customer immediately behind Mr*** had heard everything and actually asked if I was okay, because Mr*** had literally flipped out for no apparent reasonThis same customer later came into the office to inform me that Mr*** continued on, swearing at everything, while he was parked in our back parking lotShe actually made the phone call to the police at that point, due to his aggressive behavior towards me, even when I was no longer present
Back inside the office, I noticed that Mr*** had either remembered his access code or received assistance somehowHowever, he was now having difficulties at the elevators, which is where I initially told him I would help him, while he sat in his vehicle outside of our entry gateI was able to see this by watching our camera monitorsHe then came into the office and was talking to the other girls (the only other two staff members that were working that day)He then accused me of staring at him, in some type of demeaning manner, which I was clearly not, because I was trying everything to just get him the assistance he needed and send him on his wayHe then told me that the reason he had to talk to me like that outside, was because I was talking down to him, which is actually what he repeatedly yelled at meHe continued down the hallway swearing and shouting and even inside the officeBy this time, I had enough of his swearing for no reason all over the facility, which was completely uncalled for and bothersome to our businessWe had at least two other customers come in during his rants, to question whether we (the staff) were okay, one of course, which took it upon herself to call the police
I then asked the customer what exactly his problem was with me, because he had apparently just spoken to the other girls nicelyHe shouted at me yet again, and I wanted him to just leave, because he was now causing a great big deal of a scene inside our facility, with other customers walking in and outMr*** then threatened to have his wife come down to beat me up, because he could not since he is a male and I am a femaleMr*** insisted that I had been talking down to him and continued on with his shouting of profanity all over the facility, at which point, we too had to call the policeWhen the police arrived they also mentioned that they had previously responded to a similar situation with this same customer
In our report with the police, it was agreed that the customer just take his business elsewhere due to his behavior at our facilityHowever, he has yet to vacate the facilityAt this time, the only solution that we can agree upon, would be for Mr*** to find another storage facility that will suit his needs, because we do not feel safe with his presence
