I am responding to the complaint from Jeffrey Daw. The facts of this matter are as follows:In a tax appointment on March 24, 2017, at 12:43 pm, which lasted until 1:44 pm, I reviewed and prepared an income tax return for this married couple. There were many questions I had which I needed...
to have answers for, and documents I needed to properly prepare their income tax return. There was also an substantial amount of an IRA transrfered to Mr Daw's account which had an incorrect code making the entire transfer taxable. I prepared the return as a preview of what the results would be based on what information I had been provided. Mr [redacted] did not like the results, so after one hour stood up, demanded all his records back and demanded a copy of the return I had prepared as a preliminary result and said he was going to get a second opinion as he stormed out of my office. My name, my company's name and my identifying tax id numbers were on that return. I am an Enrolleg Agent and am very adept at income tax preparation. Needless to say, I never heard back from Mr or Mrs Daw. After spending over an hour meeting with them and giving them a copy of the preliminary income tax return, I sent them a bill in the amount of $260 for my services and for him taking a copy of my preliminary tax return.His dispute is unfounded , as you can see, and he is indebted to my company for this amount, which will be pursued.NEVER is my 40+ years in this profession has such an occurance taken place.
