Started out professional: ended up with clients in tears11/2**SSN**
tl;dr: We thought we hired a professional craftsman who paid attention to the details and communicated with his clientsWe couldn't have been more wrong about one Richard J D'***, the proprieter of CraftPro Contracting, LLCStay away at all costs!
Everything started out great - an estimate meeting, a deposit that would go towards the workA reasonable proposal, and then a larger deposit to get startedThrough some personal tragedy, we were flexible and cooperative with any changes needed to the schedule - we understand these things happenOur expectations were set on when the work would ultimately commence, by Richard, as being "all week M-F, 8-5"Monday it seemed to be so, and we got an email updateTuesday, things started to go downhill - only a brief bit of work, then a departureWednesday, no communication, no workSame with Thursday and FridayNo response to texts, emails, or phone callsIn our concern for his general well being, we attempted to reach him at the address on the invoicewhich turned out to not be an actual "address where he resides yet"Despite all the red flags, when he finally resurfaced and told us he was ill and bedridden, unable even to have his business manager call his business clients and inform them of his status -- we were willing to accept this and move forward with SOME of the previously-agreed-upon workNow, our deposit for the overall work was more than the actual remaining work to be performed, and he agreed he absolutely needed to refund the balance that we overpaidWe naively agreed to continueFast forward another week, and our cabinet doors are actually painted white, and he reassembled them without the walk-through he had promised usHe emailed us a picture and claimed " I think they look great " despite the fact that all surfaces were not "glass smooth" as per the specifications of the contract and price we were quotedAlso, general sloppiness is apparently acceptable to him: obvious lines from the use of a roller were visible on nearly every piece - and even more: one door wasn't even primed or painted; there was a lazy susan door that was completely overlookedFast forward another week, and he came to "look at the door he missed", and the other splatter all on our windows and brand new oven range in multiple places"Oh, those are easy to clean" - yes, we know they are easy to clean them upThat is your job, good contractor that we have paid money in exchange for servicesBut, we again expressed our understanding that things go awry and accepted his offer to continue trying to fix thingsHe said he'd be back "tomorrow or Friday" to get the doorsWe never heard from himHis excuse on Saturday after blowing us off all Friday was "oh, I meant AFTER Friday"Well, that was itNow, please give us a refund, we no longer want to play this gameWe are still hoping for a refund - part of which was an overpayment he owes us, and part of which was a refund he offered us voluntarily in response to his unfinished and unsatisfactory jobIf we do get a refund, I'll come back and update this postPlease do not use this company for any services whatsoever, unless you like throwing your money at someone who doesn't live up to the expectations he himself has set with you

Hired CraftPro for a 1,000 square foot interior paint job. Right from the beginning communication was great and the scope of work was detailed thoroughly. Rich started the project when he indicated and work to finish the job in the time frame he laid out. Despite these positive aspects, great craftsmanship comes down to the details, follow through and execution.
I am providing a negative rating and zero percent chance of recommending, simply for the fact the job was not complete and left unprofessionally. During final walk through the following items were pointed out to be addressed in order to complete the project, which Rich stated he would be back the next day to finish: Discoloration on the trim and edges due to lack of painting consistency; ceiling paint and wall paint colors bleeding together as a result of poor lining, edging and detail; white paint marks left on the cast iron railings again as a result of not focusing on the details and not cleaning up the job appropriately; white paints left on the wood floors as a result of not cleaning up properly and laying down sufficient covering on the floors; white ceiling paint marks on the walls (which are a completely different color). As you may suspect, Rich was a no-show and after many phone calls, voicemails, and emails over a 4 week period. Rich went from prompt communication to zero communication. Essentially, as soon as the check was in his hands, he disappeared.
My rating could have been far better if the job was completed and taken across the finish line as agreed upon. Unfortunately, we are in a position to hire another painter to finish Rich’s work in its entirety.
