Dear [redacted], We are responding to complaint #[redacted] dated 9/26: 14. The installation carries a 1 year warranty against re stretching and other things such as loose mouldings etc. This installation is well in excess of that time, when she noticed around the end of March 2013. Craft Rug...

Mills of [redacted] didn't close until the end of September 2013. Upon questioning the installer about this job, his comment about the stairs was that his method is putting tackless strips on the sides of the steps. Most installers don't do this. This is just a different method of installation. Wall to wall installation does require re stretching from time to time. The idea here is that it is easier to correct when it is a small problem, not to wait until it is a large problem.Solution:Craft Rug Mills will provide re stretching and fixing the stairs at no cost to her on a one time basis only. We will have our installer contact her and arrange a time.

Review: November 5, 2011 I purchased carpet for all but one room in my home (over $7000 worth). Carpets were installed in mid-December. I was told at that time their installer had suddenly moved away and they had to locate another. Approximately March 2013, I notice slight ripples in the carpets of the main living area. When I stopped by the store to talk to them about my carpet, they were out of business. As time has gone by the ripples in the carpet have gotten much worse, to the point that they can make you trip. A co-worker mentioned to me that the company was not out of businees and still operating in the [redacted] area. I called and left a message for the manager (Marvin?) who did call me several days later. He said their warranty was only good for a year but would send someone out to look at the carpet. His "carpet stretcher" came to our home and gave us an estimate of $400.00 ++ dollars to re-stretch our carpet and also said he could do nothing with the steps ( the most dangerous area for tripping). Some of the statements he made to us were: Carpet was not installed properly and because of the time of year it should have had time to warm up (outside/inside) before they installed. I asked how can you tell it is an improper installation because I would have of course gone back to the company much sooner. He said you can't and something like this happening to my carpet would not show up for at least a year. I am also concerned how this installation will effect my warranty on the carpet I purchased. I specifically bought from this company because they carried the Smart Strand carpet.Desired Settlement: I want my carpet repaired(stretched) at no cost to me. It is bad enough that we will need to take time off from work and move all of the furniture out of the house for this repair. Also there has to be a solution for the steps. This is a safety hazard in my home.
