Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
This is a mailed version of the same rebuttal that was received on October 18th. I am waiting on the result of disputing the charge on my credit card in order to determine my next course of action which may include any or all of the following; filing with the Attorney General's Office, filing with the Consumer Protection Agency and Filing in Albany, NY Small Claims Court for the maximum $5,000.
Regards,

Cranesville Block received a phone call from Mr. [redacted] requesting advice and pricing on what type of concrete mix to place for an overlay pour on an existing concrete basement slab a this home that had settled. He spoke with our Operations Manager, Steve [redacted] who has 35+years of design and production of concrete mixtures along with numerous industry certifications. Mr. [redacted] requested a delivery of self-leveling concrete, which Steve [redacted] told him we do not deliver in ready mix trucks. That type of product is only available in dry bags, which is mixed by hand on the job site. Mr. [redacted] opted to self-perform the pour, without hiring a mason or contractor. He rented a concrete pump truck and did not want the pump truck or concrete truck to be set up on his blacktop driveway and opted to place the equipment on his neighbors stone driveway about 300' away from the pour causing delay to the pour.To pour a basement slab of 9 cubic yards a contractor would have a minimum of four qualified people; a mason with a laser level and vibratory magic screed; two laborers to rake and level the concrete. The contractor would also supply one person to set up, drag and move the concrete pump line while placing the concrete. Mr. [redacted] chose to order 9 cubic yards of concrete to pour the floor for a basement bathroom that was about 5" thick over dirt and to pour the remainder across the whole basement slab to level out the settling of the home. 9 cubic yards of concrete has a volume of a required area of 800 square feet with an average thickness of between 3 W' and 3 %''.Unfortunately Mr. [redacted] only had himself and a friend helping and rented the wrong type of vibrator from [redacted] and a garden rake. The cause of the floor not coming out as Mr.[redacted] had intended is solely Mr. [redacted] responsibility. He took on a project that was much larger than he had anticipated and lacked the tools, man-power and resources to have a successful outcome to his project. He should have hired a licensed and qualified contractor to perform the masonry work. This was also verified by the concrete pump operator and ready mix truck driver. If Mr. [redacted] had decided to use self-leveling grout in bags he would have had to purchase(297) fifty five pound bags of Ardex self-leveling underlayment at a cost of $15,460.63, (297)fifty pound bags of pea gravel at a cost of $2,534, 3 gallons of primer at a cost of $167.51, plus  a mixer rental for a week at a cost of $419.04 for a total of $18581.48. To continuously mix 297 bags at an estimated time of 4-5 minutes per bag would take nearly 20- 25 hours of continuous mixing. The other option would be to purchase the Levei Quik RS product and pour thinner 1 X'' layers on top of one another until the grade of slab is brought up to the level of the delivered 9 cubic yards of ready mix grout. This would require an estimated (558} fifty pound bags at a cost of$14,903.29 at an estimated mixing time of 2- 3 minutes per bag would take a nearly 19- 28 hours of continuous mixing.Mr. [redacted] chose to purchase 9 cubic yards of ready mix grout at a cost of $1,858.51 from Cranesville Block to fill the void in the basement due to a settling home/floor due to improper sub-grade at the time the home was built, as reported by Mr. [redacted].Joseph [redacted]Albany Plant Manager Cranesville Block Company, Inc.
