Hello [redacted],
Re: Case # XXXXXXXX
In March of this year I was contacted by [redacted] to do a fence bid. He never responded. A month or so later his neighbor [redacted], who...

shared the fence contacted me for a bid. I went and gave her a bid. The bid was different from the one I gave [redacted] because [redacted] requested a different fence. She told me that She had spoken to [redacted] and they had agreed to split the cost. Per [redacted], she forwarded my new bid to [redacted] and he approved it. [redacted] has this email exchange documented. I went forward with the job I quoted to [redacted]. During the construction process [redacted] repeatedly came out into the yard yelled at me and my crew, told us, per his search on google, we were not doing our jobs correctley and theatened violence against me. His claim of me yelling at him is untrue. I was always calm and never raised my voice. After a number of these badgerings, yes I did tell him to go inside. I told him to go inside until he could calm down and talk to me. As far as the additional fencing that [redacted] is referring to, my client [redacted] is who told my guys to tear it down. Apparently, [redacted] and [redacted] had a previous agreement about that section. My guys were taking orders from the client, I did not order them to do so, therefore it was not in the original bid. This obviously was a miscommunication on all parts and I will gladly take the cost of that section off of Mr. [redacted] bill. As far as Stephens claim of not following the fence line, we followed the adjacent property lines and put the corner where they intersected. The fence is plumb and straight, unlike the curving fence previously. The building jurisdiction in that area does not require a permit for that type and height of fence. Mr. [redacted] states that he would like me to rebuild the fence properly. I have no intention of rebuilding this fence as it was built properly and to my bid to my client [redacted], who is satisfied with the fence.
Thank you,
[redacted]

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/09/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have lived at this current residence for over 35 years. I have had fences built , two times on each neighbors shared property line. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor.
I can provide a list of references, from building contractors, who had a mutually positive work expierence with me.
[redacted] Construction failed to build the new fence on the existing fence line, as all past fencing jobs had done.
[redacted] Construction failed to remove and eradicate the bamboo on [redacted]s property. I warned them not to start the fence build until the bamboo was in control. They ignored my orders to stop the fence build. The fence was built over ground that still has existing bamboo shoots. Now that the fence is built, the bamboo is coming back into my yard, and causing problems again to my landscaping.
This is not a he said, she said issue. I have detailed photos of the shoddy fence build, as well as the bamboo problem.
I also have e mails from [redacted], approving the first estimate, and wanting [redacted] to come to her home for an estimate on the bamboo removal.
I am in the process of getting an estimate on the bamboo removal, and an estimate, contractors opinion on the fence line issue.
I have filed a complaint with California Contractors Liscense Board concerning [redacted] Constructions poor workmanship, and harassment from him and his crew.
I have previously paid $1,950 towards the construction bill, which is half owed per the original estimate.
I will only pay for 61 ft of fencing, per the original estimate.
I reserve the right to continue with my complaint with the Contractors Board.
I would like to see an adjusted bill, reflecting the additional non approved fence portion removed, and the bill explained in detail
[redacted]s response to this investigation is peppered with lies.
We were upset, because your crew was making several mistakes, that will cost us extra money. Here are the construction mistakes that Craword Construction performed that caused us stress:
1. Removed a 17 ft fence section that was not on [redacted]s property, and not approved in the estimate. When I asked the worker to stop, he ignored me, and continued to remove the old fence.
2. [redacted] Construction built the fence crooked, not going by the original fence line. The fence is not straight. When I came outside to complain, I was told " what's the problem now." And told my wife to get back inside. This is a major construction flaw, and [redacted] Construction ignored our complaint.
3. While using a bobcat tractor to dig a trench for the bamboo barrier, the bobcat operator, repeatedly backed into the new fence posts, causing them to become loose. I complained, and the operator ignored my pleas to stop. The bobcat operator also tore up a corner of [redacted]s garden shed as well.
4. [redacted] Construction built the fence, before taking all the steps in removing the bamboo. They didn't listen to my request to eradicate the bamboo, so it wouldn't grow on my yard anymore. The bamboo has returned growing on my property in 4 places, growing rapidly.
5. I was not informed of any change orders, and my requests for an account and breakdown of my bill, has been ignored. I tried calling, sending e mails, and resorted to a registered letter to no avail.
I would like an adjusted bill, to see what is owed.
I have detailed photos, emails, and registered letters to back up my claims. I will be happy to provide the Revdex.com with any additional prof of this claim.
