Crawford's Towing

On October 30, 2016, I recieved a call from the Virginia State Police to tow a vehicle that hadbeen in an accident. I arrived at the scene to find one lane of 460 shut down, a Toyota SUV thathad hit an embankment and rolled three times down highway 460. The vehicle was a completeloss (totaled). The...

left suspension was pushed up under the vehicle, the steering was broke, aswell as several busted body pieces. With the lane being blocked I loaded the vehicle as quickly aspossible and began the clean up which involves sweeping the road of all debris, picking of piecesof the body, ect. Upon completion of clean up I gave the driver/owner a ride to [redacted] sohe could await his ride home. I gave him a buisness card and told him to gíve it to the body shopmanager of [redacted] because they arent open on Sunday. I told him to have them call me.His mother called on Monday asking where the car was, I explained that the shop had not calledme as of yet, and I was awaiting their call. She proceeded to tell me that insurance adjuster wason their way to look at the vehicle. So I called the shop manager and she had not heard fromanyone (the adjuster, the mother,or the owner/ driver of the vehicle). She also stated that[redacted] pays with a PO(purchase order). I do not have a contract with [redacted] so I do notaccept a PO's from them. While I was on the phone with shop manager Ms. [redacted] called backagain and told me it would be paid with a PO. I explained to her that I do not accept PO's. At thispoint I can only assume she hit her breaking point because she began to cuss and yell at me overthe phone. The shop manager of [redacted] returned my call and said they would haveanother tow company that accepted PO's come pick up the vehicle, it was picked up on October31, 2016. The tow was actually 8 miles but the mileage doesnt become a factor in chargesrelating to an accident. She insists that I doubled the bill which is completely incorrect. Everycharge was listed on the bill, which is in complete comparison to any other tow company. Somecustomers don't understand working an accident scene is completely differrent than picking up acar thats broken down in a driveway. There is much more work invoved in the general process,¡t ¡s not just hook up and go. These people have bashed the company on line as well as myselfpersonally of which I have copies of. As for a copy of the bill in question , the company that paidthe bill (insurance) has that.Thank YouT. Funk
