Unit ***, Island Inn, Treasurer Island - Unit was dirty, broken screen, mold on lampshades and the list goes on.
We booked into this unit on Sunday, March 3, 2019. This is the worst rental we have ever had in all our years of travelling.

Screen door broken
A wad of Kleenex stuck to the wall
Stove stop in kitchenette broken
No sink stopper
No tray for dish drying rack
Mold growing on the lampshades
Very dirty - we had to go out and buy Lysol wipes to clean and dust
Bathroom moldy and rusty
Bathroom sink mirror trim cracked and broken
Linens - towels old and musty, bed comforter disgusting
Hair and food crumbs in dressers drawers

I can't believe a reputable company like VRBO and iTrip would rent out this property. We immediately called Mainsail Vacation Rental/iTrip Vacations. They said they would refund the cleaning fee! A maintenance person came and removed the wad of Kleenex stuck to the wall and took the screen door away and never returned with it. We spent the whole vacation without a screen door! The following day (Monday March 4th) they brought new lamps and said that "they are working with the owner to remodel the unit". I am of the view that no one from your company and the local rental company Mainsail Vacations has actually seen this unit? I paid for a unit based on your reputable company, the review and pictures as posted on VRBO. This is far from acceptable for the $995.53 US we paid. I have asked for a refund of from Mainsail/iTrip but have not received any answer.

Desired Outcome

Mainsail Vacation Rentals are a joke. I would like a refund of my rental due to the fact that this unit was disgusting. They confirmed they would refund my "cleaning deposit", but have not as yet. They said the owner wasn't local but they have been in touch with the owner to "remodel the unit". They quickly came in to replace the mold growing on the lampshades with new lamps and that was it. Screen door that was taken to get fixed was never replaced and we didn't hear anything further from them.

They clearly knew the condition of this unit was unacceptable. Their immediate response was "we'll refund the cleaning fee". A man came from the rental company, took the screen door away and never returned with it. The next day someone arrived with new lamps and took away the lamps that was growing mould and mildew. That was the only response in 4 days. The rental company should also refund their administration fee for being the rental company renting out this dump. It totally ruined our vacation and the rental company should know what they are renting out and be responsible. I want at least 1/2 our money back.

Purchased a 3 night rental vacation for $745.00. Room was infested with cockroaches. The company has ignored my request for refund. Had to leave
Dates of Stay were June 6,2018 to June 9, 2018.
Booked 3 night stay in Treasure Island, Florida through ITRIP. Shortly after we arrived, we noticed the property was infested with cockroaches and had to leave. We contacted ITRIP who verbally stated they would issue a refund. They have not issued the refund and have been non-responsive to phone calls and email.

The property is professional treated for any pests and is applied regularly. The condo that this guest stayed in was occupied both before and after their stay, and no issues have been reported at all, either inside this unit, or at the building in general.

There is no "cockroach infestation" at this building.

Regarding our response, all email accounts have been checked, and there is no record of any complaint or issue reported by this guest. We would certainly responded to it if we did.

The building maintenance is very quick to respond to any pest issues, so taking care of any issues would have be done without question.

Rental property was not as described. Mainsail Vacation Rentals and I do not agree on the refund amount.
I made reservations for four nights at Sunset Chateau, Unit *** The physical address is *** West *** Treasure Island, Florida. The dates of our stay were to be October 8th and checking out on October 12. My family and I were very displeased with the property. It was very out dated and unclean. The couch was extremely old.. The sofa cover had unknown white substance in several spots. The pull out bed was also old and stained. I didn't allow my son to sleep on it until property maintenance provided mattress protectors for both sides of the mattress. The floors were dirty. Large amounts of dust and dirt were everywhere. The shower was gross with dark stuff in the grout. We were not comfortable being barefoot in the condo, including the shower. The rental website states that the unit had been newly renovated and I don't believe that to be true. My family and I left two nights early due to the property conditions and went to a cleaner location. I called Mainsail Vacation Rentals on 10/10 to let them know we were checking out early and the reasons why. The gentleman that I spoke to said that I would be refunded for the two nights that we did not stay. Mainsail only refunded me for one night and a partial refund of the cleaning fee that I paid.

We take great care to show at least 24 current pictures of every property that we rent, and we make sure that the descriptions are very accurate. Unfortunately, we do still have some Guests that may not have looked through the entire listing or all photographs, and arrive and find something about the property that they did not expect.

The property that this Guest stayed in, as are all our properties, is professionally cleaned after each and every Guest. The Guest did call us after the first day to tell us that they would like additional cleaning, and we immediately sent over our cleaners to check on the property and to clean anything that was not to the Guest's satisfaction. We also provided additional linens, and made our cleaning staff available to follow up on anything else needed. It was our understanding that the Guest was satisfied with this. For reasons unknown to us, the Guest decided to leave two days early, and then after the fact, asked for a refund.

As a rental agent, our refund policy does not allow for early departure, but as a courtesy to the Guest, we did work with the Owner, and we were able to refund back for a full night, plus we refunded back 50% of the cleaning fee for any trouble that they may have felt during their stay. We worked very hard to try to resolve any issues, and then worked hard to get back as much of a refund as possible. The total amount refunded back was very close to a full two nights (less than $30 difference), which is what the Guest had requested.

It saddens us whenever a Guest is not satisfied, but we do feel that we tried as much as possible to take care of this Guest, and when it didn't work out, to help as much as possible with a momentary solution.

We arrived to a dirty, unsecured condo with the Master Bathroom not properly functioning. We found issue after issue...poor customer service!
We arrived late after a long trip ready to unwind to a dirty condo. The sheets had not been changed . There were black marks in them and hairs! We found the condo door on the patio was not secured and was unlocked and unable to be locked. So we jammed the track to be able to secure the door while we sleep. We found food, cockroaches, hairs among other things that had not been cleaned. Dishes in cabinets were dirty. The Master Bathroom had strong fumes coming out of it and the toilet was not functioning. The condo looked beautiful from pictures and the finishes were high end but had sadly not been taken care of and home keeping was extremely lacking. We contact customer service immediately to be told "What do you want me to do about it...it is midnight?" We were told that we were in a safe area and didn't need to worry if the door wouldn't lock! I was up until 5 a.m. washing sheets and bedding...cleaning bathrooms and kitchen so we had a clean space to stay. The next day Brandon showed up after we made multiple more calls and emails to iTrip. They secured the door but the bathroom was still not functioning. We told him we were not satisfied with the condition of the condo. It wasn't clean. He told us he would refund us for cleaning...we told him that wasn't enough since it was clean to begin with and then I spent over 5 hours cleaning...they never came in to clean. We should of at minimum been given a credit of $250 for initial cleaning and then me having to clean the entire condo. Plus, doors not secured and also non-functioning bathroom. Someone came another day and got the toilet flushing but couldn't figure out the fumes coming from the Master. We did NOT get to utilize the Master Bathroom the entire week even though we paid for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. We reached out to Mainsail/iTrip many times with no response. We even contact them after we got home. We were given a credit of $118...even less than the cleaning fee. Completely unacceptable when we had to put towels under the bathroom door to keep fumes from giving us upset stomach and headaches.

I highly suggested families and individuals do NOT book with Mainsail. They promised to get back with us and didn't. Everyone was making excuses and brushing off things not functioning or locking. Very poor customer service! Condo itself would have been amazing if customer service and the maintaining of the condo were in proper order. Not one person apologized for the inconvenience or mess we walked into. No customer service with this company.

Desired Outcome

We would like a credit back as requested directly to Mainsail/Itrip for $500 due to one bathroom and other issues that took hours to clean up after. We could have rented a 2 bedroom 1 bath condo for much less money.

We do apologize for any inconveniences that this Guest may have experienced for their stay. We strive to make every Guest experience as perfect as possible, and we are very disappointed if we are not able to fully meet Guest expectations.

All linens and towels are washed and put through a sterilization process prior to each stay, but it sounds like there may have been some marks from the washer or dryer left on them. We have put in place a second quality control process to make sure that this doesn't happen again in the future.

This is a private home, and as in any home, things do need repair. Our maintenance staff was available, and made every effort to take care of any reported issues as quickly as possible, and it was our understanding that the Guest was satisfied with the work.

We have refunded back the full cleaning fee to this Guest for any inconveniences, and we do apologize for the trouble.

They lied to me while booking a condo. There was major construction going on and would not refund me my $700.
All 3 sides of the condo complex in FL had major construction going on. They never mentioned this during booking, after the first night of no sleep we called and emailed the company for 6 hours but NEVER received a call back. We were forced to book elsewhere for an additional $800. Then *** finally calls back as we are packing to leave and says no refund will be given! These people only care about you till they have your money then you're on your own.

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund, they promised a relaxing vacation condo. Instead I got the most stressfull, no sleep situation. this was my vacation with my kids.

From what we understand, Ms. was quite pleased with the accommodations, but was disturbed by some nearby city construction occurring the first morning of her stay. Obviously, we have no control over city construction schedules, and would not have prior knowledge of what and when work would be done in the immediate area of the condominium building.

After Ms. reported that the work was disturbing her, as a courtesy we did offer to relocate her to a comparable unit as quickly as possible, away from the work, at no cost. Ms. refused the offer.

We do apologize for the disturbance. Each property is independently owned, and we are obligated to keep to our financial commitments to the Owner. We don't have any control over city construction work, and they do not inform merchants of their work schedules.

We would like to offer Ms. a no-charge stay at an alternate property if she desires.
