There is no service after the sale The gate latch was out of adjustment and the gate would no longer shut securely I put a brick next to the gate to keep it closed I called on two different days and requested the gate latch to be fixed There was no response I ended up fixing the latch myself I noticed the wood holding the latch is split at the bottom I am sure the installers saw that but did not bother to replace it In my opinion I should not have to do any repairs to a fence that has only been up a month There is NO service after the sale and I will NOT consider using this company again

I contacted American Landmark Fence Company in January I was looking for an estimate on replacing my existing wooden fence with a white vinyl pvc fenceThey were one of three companies I called for an estimateAmerican Landmark came out gathered measurements and other information needed to provide an estimateI requested aluminum stiffeners in all gate posts, not woodThe owner stated he uses wood because â it will outlast our grandchildren.â He uses them in his own fenceHe stated he would email me an estimate within a day or twoI explained to the owner at that time I was calling other companies for estimates before making my decision A couple of days later I received the estimate via emailWritten on the estimate is â Always NegCall meThanks [redacted] (ownerâ s name)â I emailed him back and explained I was still waiting on other estimatesI emailed the owner a list of questions on items I discovered while researching pvc fencesThe owner called me stating he was going out of town the next day and it was easier to just callWhile answering my questions from the email, I did inform him I was jotting down his answersA couple of times I had him repeat his answers to make sure I was writing down the correct information The owner proceeded to call me a couple of times after that emailLeaving voicemails stating he is negotiable and is willing to work with me to get the jobEach time I emailed him back explaining what the status of the situation was whether it was waiting for another estimates, issues with my air conditioner arose, applying for a home equity loan, etcWhatever the situation was I emailed the owner and kept him informedAt one point he complimented me on keeping him updated and stated he wished all his customers would do the same After receiving all my estimates, I emailed the owner back and inquired what his best offer would be with aluminum stiffeners in all posts and upgrading the fence topper to my choice (explaining I had in writing from another company they donâ t upcharge for toppers and use aluminum stiffeners in all gate posts)The owner called me back stating he still doesnâ t believe I needed aluminum stiffeners in all gate postsThe gate to the left (when facing the house) would be fine with wooden stiffenersI told the owner I wanted aluminum in all gate posts as originally requested in all gate posts as well as the bottom of the 8ft sectionsHe stated he will go over the original estimate and see what he can doHeâ ll get back with meTwo days went by and the owner called me backHe gave me his new price to which I agreedI asked him to go ahead and write everything upI asked how far out is his job listThe owner answered about daysHe did state he had several jobs in queue however they are awaiting approvals from HOAs which could take a whileHe asked if I had to get an HOA approvalI answered noThe owner stated he will come out and write up the contract officially and could probably schedule something within the next two weeksI informed the owner at that point I was going to take all my notes from all our phone conversations and put them together in an emailThis way both of us are on the same page and we understood and agree to the same termsHe answered that was fine I gathered all my notes and drafted the emailI also stated if I thought of anything else I would forward another emailI sent the email on March 25, Five days later, March 30, I received a phone call from the ownerHe stated he wanted to give me a courtesy call and say he was pulling out of the dealIt just is too much for himI asked him to explain what was too muchHe stated the quote he gave me was for 6ft sections, not 8ftI interjected and said if he rather do 6ft sections that is fine with meI didnâ t care whether it was 6ft or 8ft sectionsHe stated again he is really busy and has a lot of jobs in queue and this is just too muchHe actually offered for me to go with one of his competitorsAgain I asked for an explanation, what he means by it is too muchAll I did was take everything we already discussed and agreed in previous phone conversations and put it in writingI did that for this exact purposeIâ m willing to discuss and negotiateThe owner stated heâ s been in busy years and never had anyone do this or ask for the release of liens or anythingItâ s too much of a hassle to contact his suppliers, contractors, etc and get the releaseI reminded him it was his suggestion in a previous phone conversation (stating date) he would supply them ahead of the job, that wouldnâ t be a problemWhen I asked for them, I believed to get them after the job was completed but he offered them aheadAgain I stated these are all the items we discussed in all previous phone conversationsI just wrote them down, there is nothing new in the email we hadnâ t already discussedThe owner said again he would rather just cancel and not do the jobI informed him if he isnâ t professional enough to negotiate what was previously agreed upon verbally in all our phone conversations that is fineI stated I have been passing out his business card to several neighborsIf he doesnâ t want to be professional and discuss this, I will be calling everyone and not recommending his companyI also said I will be giving him company negative reviewsAgain the owner stated he thinks the best thing would be for him to pull out from the jobIt just isnâ t for himI thanked him for the courtesy call and reiterated I have nothing good to say about his company and will never recommend them

Excellent customer serviceGave a reasonable estimate and set up the installation in a time frame that worked best for meWas quick to address any issues or concerns to make sure I was 100% satisfiedWill highly recommend to anyone interested in a new fence

Great Company, easy to work with We had new gates installed on our two commercial pools and they look great No hassles, the crew was professional and on timeHighly recommend American Landmark FenceHands Down Best Fence Company in the Tampa Bay area

After being recommended to me I chose this company to install a fence. While Steve (owner) is nice, he doesn't really listen to what the customer wants. I was very explicit in the specs, yet initially it was all wrong. The size of the fence was not correct which not only resulted in an additional delay, but also an increase of 20% from the original estimate. After the work was completed, Steve really was only concerned about the remaining 50% due (he requires a 50% deposit which is higher than his competitors), not my level of happiness with the work. He'll constantly refer to himself as a "small business owner" yet all he seems to do is take extended vacations. When he was incessantly hounding me for the balance due, he kept referring to needing to pay for materials. Yet, when he required the 50% deposit, he said THAT was for materials, so his excuses don't match up.

All in all it is a decent fence, but I would not recommend this company to others unless you want it done their way

There is no service after the sale. The gate latch was out of adjustment and the gate would no longer shut securely. I put a brick next to the gate to keep it closed. I called on two different days and requested the gate latch to be fixed. There was no response. I ended up fixing the latch myself. I noticed the wood holding the latch is split at the bottom. I am sure the installers saw that but did not bother to replace it. In my opinion I should not have to do any repairs to a fence that has only been up a month. There is NO service after the sale and I will NOT consider using this company again.

This is a supplemental review to one previously posted. After posting the initial, neutral feedback, I learned that American Landmark installed the fence directly on top of one sprinkler head, and the side fence was so far inside my property line that another sprinkler head was well outside of it. I attempted to contact the owner, Steve, who was on yet another vacation. Knowing the risk that existed for damage to my sprinkler system, I paid to have the 2 sprinkler heads removed at my own time & expense. Subsequently, when Steve returned, he met me at the property. Steve indicated that in his opinion, the fence was only 3 inches too far inside the property line (in totality, they put it 9 inches inside the property line). When I requested that it be moved, Steve refused. He stated that in his opinon, 3 inches was not a big deal, but as any property owner knows, it is a big deal. I found Steve to be rude, condescending, and completely unwilling to listen to anyone but himself.

I contacted American Landmark Fence Company in January 2015. I was looking for an estimate on replacing my existing wooden fence with a white vinyl pvc fence. They were one of three companies I called for an estimate. American Landmark came out gathered measurements and other information needed to provide an estimate. I requested aluminum stiffeners in all gate posts, not wood. The owner stated he uses wood because “it will outlast our grandchildren.” He uses them in his own fence. He stated he would email me an estimate within a day or two. I explained to the owner at that time I was calling other companies for estimates before making my decision.
A couple of days later I received the estimate via email. Written on the estimate is “Always Neg. Call me. Thanks [redacted] (owner’s name)”. I emailed him back and explained I was still waiting on other estimates. I emailed the owner a list of questions on items I discovered while researching pvc fences. The owner called me stating he was going out of town the next day and it was easier to just call. While answering my questions from the email, I did inform him I was jotting down his answers. A couple of times I had him repeat his answers to make sure I was writing down the correct information.
The owner proceeded to call me a couple of times after that email. Leaving voicemails stating he is negotiable and is willing to work with me to get the job. Each time I emailed him back explaining what the status of the situation was whether it was waiting for another estimates, issues with my air conditioner arose, applying for a home equity loan, etc. Whatever the situation was I emailed the owner and kept him informed. At one point he complimented me on keeping him updated and stated he wished all his customers would do the same.
After receiving all my estimates, I emailed the owner back and inquired what his best offer would be with aluminum stiffeners in all posts and upgrading the fence topper to my choice (explaining I had in writing from another company they don’t upcharge for toppers and use aluminum stiffeners in all gate posts). The owner called me back stating he still doesn’t believe I needed aluminum stiffeners in all gate posts. The gate to the left (when facing the house) would be fine with wooden stiffeners. I told the owner I wanted aluminum in all gate posts as originally requested in all gate posts as well as the bottom of the 8ft sections. He stated he will go over the original estimate and see what he can do. He’ll get back with me. Two days went by and the owner called me back. He gave me his new price to which I agreed. I asked him to go ahead and write everything up. I asked how far out is his job list. The owner answered about 10 days. He did state he had several jobs in queue however they are awaiting approvals from HOAs which could take a while. He asked if I had to get an HOA approval. I answered no. The owner stated he will come out and write up the contract officially and could probably schedule something within the next two weeks. I informed the owner at that point I was going to take all my notes from all our phone conversations and put them together in an email. This way both of us are on the same page and we understood and agree to the same terms. He answered that was fine.
I gathered all my notes and drafted the email. I also stated if I thought of anything else I would forward another email. I sent the email on March 25, 2015. Five days later, March 30, 2015 I received a phone call from the owner. He stated he wanted to give me a courtesy call and say he was pulling out of the deal. It just is too much for him. I asked him to explain what was too much. He stated the quote he gave me was for 6ft sections, not 8ft. I interjected and said if he rather do 6ft sections that is fine with me. I didn’t care whether it was 6ft or 8ft sections. He stated again he is really busy and has a lot of jobs in queue and this is just too much. He actually offered for me to go with one of his competitors. Again I asked for an explanation, what he means by it is too much. All I did was take everything we already discussed and agreed in previous phone conversations and put it in writing. I did that for this exact purpose. I’m willing to discuss and negotiate. The owner stated he’s been in busy 47 years and never had anyone do this or ask for the release of liens or anything. It’s too much of a hassle to contact his suppliers, contractors, etc and get the release. I reminded him it was his suggestion in a previous phone conversation (stating date) he would supply them ahead of the job, that wouldn’t be a problem. When I asked for them, I believed to get them after the job was completed but he offered them ahead. Again I stated these are all the items we discussed in all previous phone conversations. I just wrote them down, there is nothing new in the email we hadn’t already discussed. The owner said again he would rather just cancel and not do the job. I informed him if he isn’t professional enough to negotiate what was previously agreed upon verbally in all our phone conversations that is fine. I stated I have been passing out his business card to several neighbors. If he doesn’t want to be professional and discuss this, I will be calling everyone and not recommending his company. I also said I will be giving him company negative reviews. Again the owner stated he thinks the best thing would be for him to pull out from the job. It just isn’t for him. I thanked him for the courtesy call and reiterated I have nothing good to say about his company and will never recommend them.
