Dear [redacted],The customer did book a trip with us in October. We are a fishing business and we do fish in rough weather. Most of our customers know this and check the weather ahead of time and make their decision to attend or not. Our web site has a link to the weather forecast and we are always...

available to answer questions. We require at least 24 hours to cancel a reservation in order to have enough time to fill the spots taken. Our normal fare is $35 per person and this group was two adults. They purchased a social media promotion (Groupon) that we run on occasion to attract new customers. They made their reservation which included their [redacted] voucher number. When they arrived at the boat they produced their printed voucher and were let on board. An announcement was made before the trip that the high winds will make for a rough ride. No one got off the boat. We proceeded to the fishing grounds and experienced rough seas which are very common in the fall. We then started to receive concerns that some did not want to fish in these conditions. Everyone on board was told that if we return to the dock to drop you off NO refunds will be issued. A consensus was taken and we decided to return back to the dock to drop off those that had concerns and then continue back out. We indeed went back out and finished our trip for the remaining time. They had the option to check the weather before the trip which did indeed show high winds and they had the option to continue on which they chose to get off the boat while being told that no refunds will be given. I went to redeem the vouchers received from the trip and noticed this customer had their voucher refunded. When a voucher gets refunded the monies that are earned are then deducted. At this point I charged the customers credit card to compensate for the services rendered for the day in question. It's like going to an amusement park and buying tickets for the roller coaster...going on the ride and then decide you didn't like the ride.  And then try to get your money back.
