Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: My problem with Texas Superior Construction was not with not with the materials used, but the quality of the workmanship I did agree to the the terms of “”installed p.s.iwith number rebar tied in at every inches” as indicated in the proposal However I did not agree to large blobs of concrete, concrete splattered on the backdoors and on the exterior of the house, or large puddles directly in front of the doors indicating an unleveled surfaceAlso, in response to [redacted] ’s statement I would like to submit the photos for everyone to make their own decision based on the evidence Please view them and consider if this is “superior workmanship” as [redacted] stated in his response Also would you be upset if you paid $2,for a job and got the results based on the pictures (attached)? Regarding ***’s response, he tells a very different story than the one I remember The story I know goes as follows: [redacted] came out to my home and gave me a bid as well as several contractors to remove and pour the new patio in my back yard I accepted ***’s bid of $2,300, he was the lowest bid of the quotes from various contractors I received I did not negotiate with him considering he was the lowest bidder, I believe this to be the standard practice [redacted] and I both signed the proposal and agreed to the terms and I paid him half the total via check on June 6th He came back later that week to start the project The team at Texas Superior Construction tore out the slab and put in the framework to pour the slab Shortly after they poured the concrete for the slab and [redacted] explained to me the concrete was to wet and they would have to wait a lit bit to let it thicken before putting on the horse tail finish and they would make it look superiorThat is when I paid [redacted] the second and final check I had to work the rest of the day so I had to leave Later that night I came home and was incredibly disappointed at the outcome There were sunken spots on the slab from not be leveled, globs of concrete in severals places, concrete splatter all over the back doors and the brick and a super rough finish I believe the pictures (attached) will describe the “superior” craftsmanship that Texas Superior Construction better than an description I could I then proceeded to call *** at tell him that we were disappointed in the outcome of the slab and if he could come over to look at the slab He came over the next day to take a look and explained to me that one of his employees had leveled and put the finish on the concrete while it too wet He admitted to the me and my wife that the job was not satisfactory and he would take care of us *** was there when we used the hose to show him where the sunken spots in the slab were located, particularly the two right outside the back doors to the patio There was never any flooding or mention of flooding inside our home as indicated by [redacted] ***then suggested putting tile on top of the slab as an alternative to just having the slabHe said that he could do it for an additional cost This is just not really what we wanted or agreed to He then suggested to pour a few inches on top of the slab with new concrete I took the advice of my contractors at the time they strongly advised me not to this due to there will be no adhesion between the two layers and if the top layer was just an inch or two it would crack easily Unfortunately, at this point we realized the only way we could go was to tear out and pour a new slab We told this to [redacted] and he wanted more money to redo it I refused to pay him any additional money because we did not have the money in our budget and told him that he needs to finish the job that was payed him to do He kept saying he said he would make things right and come back and complete the job ***came back out to tear the concrete out again on August 4th, and tore out all the concrete [redacted] told me that he would be back in a couple of weeks and he needed to recoup some money I told him that was understandable and I told him to call me in a few weeks A few weeks went by and I had not heard from him yet so I decided to call him He said he needed a little bit more time and he would come out and finish This was a little frustrating, but we were trying to be reasonable To several more weeks go by and I did not hear from him He told me that he almost has enough money to come out and finish the project and it should be another week He said he would call me the next week and let us know when he could come out He never called and the same scenario happened over and over for several months After about the third month, we got very tired of ***’s dishonesty and giving us the run around My wife and I got heated on the phone with him only after being lied to on a consistent basis My wife and I later apologized for yelling at him over the phone, he agreed this is what you have to do to get things done sometimes He assured us that he had been really slow for during the late summer and early fall and he promised he would be out to finish the slab I called him every several weeks and he would always tell us a date and he would never come out This continue for well over a year *** has never finished the project and the slab is still missing in our backyard I understand Texas Superior Construction has been a member since 1995, I have not seen the projects they have completed in this time period The only project of theirs I am familiar with is this one That is what I am basing this complaint on, not all the other projects Now all I can do to be sure that potential future customers do not get themselves in a similar situation to us with a dishonest business that does amateur work I am tired of businesses taking advantage of people in Corpus Christi and that is why I am fighting this so hardI look forward to doing business with the honest and professional contractors that can do what they say they can do Food for thought: I don’t understand why *** would come and “remove the well built slab” if he thought his work was “superior” according to his response of my original statement to the Revdex.comDo you have the proposal with your original quote you claim I was “bringing us down to the lowest price possible”for everyone online and the Revdex.com to see? Wouldn’t this be amended on the proposal if this actually happened? I do have the only proposal we ever signed by [redacted] and I (attached) that states the nature of the work to be done There was never any other legally binding contacts between us This house is the only the second one I have flipped (the first one was on [redacted] near Del Mar College in and I encourage [redacted] ** to bring forward any evidence that states otherwise So I am not sure where he gets his information from when he says “Mr [redacted] who buys and sells homes for a living.” This concludes my response.Regards, [redacted]

yes we poured a concrete slab for Mr*** *** who buys and sells homes for a living, after bringing us down to the lowest price possible, he accepted or prise and terms of how the concrete was to be installed p.s.iwith number four rebar tied in at every inches and with a horse
tale finish he agreed to the termsThe workmanship was superior so good that when went back to remove the new cement we had a very difficult time removing itThey had told my self and my crew which will testified if needed, that they were going to install ceramic tile over the new concrete, but when his wife saw the finish she wanted a smooth finishFirst she said it was ugly, but I told it was a none slip surface horse tail finish , than she said the water was going into the home, not true she tried to flood the area with a water hose but did not go into the home, she tried living the hose on the roof to see if the water would go in her home dint n happen, so the only thing she had to compliment about was the the cement finish was not smooth.Being a member of the B.B.B since we try to work things out for our valued customers we offered by going back and re doing the cement with a smooth finish, so we proceeded to remove the well built slab, the owner refused to pay anything to have the cement with a new finish the sign a legal binding contract, and after the lowest price in town refused to help with the re pouring of the smooth finishwe were verbally abused and belittle by the wife of mr, burkett and treating us with legal action Im am tired of some investor investor taking advantage of honest workers trying to earn an honest living.I high advise contractors to beware of these people who trying to get rich by taking advantage of people beware of the burketts thank you

My response to mr *** to his rejection, is now talking about now his talking about large blobs concrete splattered on the walls and large puddles of waterwas not issue before and now it isthey tried flooding the patio, the they the water hose up the roof and let the water come down water never went into the home. Once again the ***s told us that ceramic tile would be installed over the new concrete, my supervisor and employees could testify. The negotiating was done verbally, he promised he had other homes that needed work and would consider us for the work, so I gave him the lowest price possible, so for other contractors out there trying to earn and honest living beware of people like the ***s and dont lower your price on future promises. mr *** lies about I suggested to put tile over the slab when that was his idea from the start. The reason I went back was to keep mr *** happy but they did not want to work with me by paying for the concrete job just because the did not like the finish texture which was going to habe tile over the top

I am rejecting this response because:
My problem with Texas Superior Construction was not with not with the materials used, but the quality of the workmanship.  I did agree to the the terms of “”installed 300 p.s.i. with number 4 rebar tied in at every 16 inches” as indicated in the proposal.   However I did not agree to large blobs of concrete, concrete splattered on the backdoors and on the exterior of the house, or large puddles directly in front of the doors indicating an unleveled surface. Also, in response to [redacted]’s statement I would like to submit the photos for everyone to make their own decision based on the evidence.  Please view them and consider if this is “superior workmanship” as [redacted] stated in his response.  Also would you be upset if you paid $2,300 for a job and got the results based on the pictures (attached)? Regarding [redacted]’s response, he tells a very different story than the one I remember.  The story I know goes as follows: [redacted] came out to my home and gave me a bid as well as several contractors to remove and pour the new patio in my back yard.  I accepted [redacted]’s bid of $2,300, he was the lowest bid of the quotes from various contractors I received.  I did not negotiate with him considering he was the lowest bidder, I believe this to be the standard practice.  [redacted] and I both signed the proposal and agreed to the terms and I paid him half the total via check on June 6th 2016.   He came back later that week to start the project.  The team at Texas Superior Construction tore out the slab and put in the framework to pour the slab.  Shortly after they poured the concrete for the slab and [redacted] explained to me the concrete was to wet and they would have to wait a lit bit to let it thicken before putting on the horse tail finish and they would make it look superior. Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
[redacted] still has not finished the job he is contractually obligated to complete.  He failed to complete the project that he originally started and has led me to believe he would finish the project for over a years time period, but never followed through on his word.  He strung us along and eventually stopped taking my phone calls, which resulted in me writing bad reviews and going to the Revdex.com. Regarding his last statement: [redacted] the large blobs of concrete and splatter on the walls was always one of the problems, we told you this on countless occasions over a year long period.  Did you not think this was a problem?  Just look at the pictures and honestly tell me if this is a problem or not. Regarding the “tried flooding the patio” statement, once again you were there as well as my wife, 2 independent contractors and myself as we sprayed water on the patio to see where the water accumulated.  Water never came inside the house.  [redacted] do you have any evidence to support these claims.  My wife, the 2 independent contractors and myself are all willing to testify regarding this matter. Ceramic tile was never part of the arrangement.  My wife, 2 independent contractors and myself are all willing to testify in the court of law on the issue.  The proposal (signed legal document) also says nothing about a ceramic patio.  That is because it was never part of the agreement, never even mentioned until you brought it up when we were spraying water on the patio.  This is when you asked my wife and I if we would consider ceramic tile.  We said no and no verbal agreement was ever made.   Once again, could [redacted] tell me about the “other homes that needed work” he refers to in his statement.  Could you please tell me exactly which ones?  What are the addresses?  This never happened.  Why would I give a promise to a contractor I have never used for future work. At this point [redacted] will lie and do whatever he needs to do to save face with the Revdex.com, instead of accepting his mistakes like a man and do what you say your going to do.     Regards,
[redacted]
