First, we are supplying a list of parts and labor that has added to the cost of project to this point When the car was delivered to my shop, that was the first time that we saw the car and yes it was one of the cleanest cars we have restored Most are rusted out, doors, fenders, floor
boards & floor braces In the beginning of this project, I brought to customers attn the leak in back window area that rusted rear window to trunk lid panel & rusted thru trunk floor To repair car and match the rest of clean sheet metal a complete trunk floor with braces & window panel was recommended and approved by the customer to purchase We pointed out the front leading hood edge was rusted through all the way across, so we purchased a new hood, which was approved by customer Also, the customer was concerned about the twist in the car and I needed to inspect before knowing what was needed It was determined that the car was hit in drivers quarter & tail panel in the past We also replaced the rear tail panel with a new one, which was approved by customer We were able to straighten frame & also replace rear frame member with a new part The customer also requested to box the frame in to strengthen frame for a high performance motor that he was purchasing himself with engine/transmission builder he located I brought to his attn that he may want to upgrade his braking system for the larger horsepower motor I then gave him some options on company’s that he could talk to regarding his preference I also provided him company names to choose the suspension parts so that he could purchase direct By doing so I let him know if he bought these parts he would be saving the cost of our company marking up on the parts I also asked the customer if he would like to upgrade to air conditioned, since the car was going to California I gave him a price to purchase the system and he agreed with the purchase The customer called in regards to information he was reading on the internet and wanted to upgrade rear end assembly to a Ford 9” housing I gave him a price that included a new rear end housing & stronger axles and a gear set that matched motor and trans, rim & tire size he wanted, which he approved, so we ordered We also handled returning the first brake system, ordered for stock rear end & ordered a correct system for the new rear end.Unfortunately, there is a misunderstanding that those upgrades have added to the cost of this GTO project We are willing to work with the customer to handle this Sometimes things change during the building of a car and the customers upgrade parts to better quality, which entails added cost of the project. I hope for payment of the January invoice balance and February invoice total The car is ready for the motor & transmission install, headliner & vinyl top install The rest of the car is done & complete with original interior already reinstalled The windshield & back glass will be installed after the vinyl top is installed To date this car has been completely torn down, every component clean, blasted & refinished to restoration quality in months time Which says something about the quality & speed of our workmanship at MCR *** ***Murphys Classic Restorations, LLC
