He could have sent someone out to fix the simple problem and charge me for whatever a service call would be But I was able to fix the problem myself with no cost outlayThank you!!
This is not a complaint about the quality of work performed by the company but more about its customer service and charging practices.
I successfully used the company in the past and the quality of work today is the same good quality they provided in the past. [redacted] For a job that was easily completed by one licenced tradesman in 3½ hours the company charged 6½ hours at the full price rate of $115/hour. The service manager explanation was that they have had to charge a full $115/ hour for a 2nd tradesman which was delivering the parts... My question was: What was the 1st tradesman doing while waiting for parts so it was worth the time charged at $115/hour? The answer was as ridiculous as the reason he gave me for which they have had to use two fully licenced tradesmen for this job. I'm sure that if you send a taxi to pick up the parts it will not come even close to $345, not to mention delivery or currier services...
As a general contractor I work with a lot of sub trades. I've never seen someone to charge for a tradesman sitting around waiting for the parts to arrive (or delivering the parts) the same full price as when the tradesman is actually doing the work...
Another issue I've had with Creative Plumbing is with the way they charged the bill. Because we do not have an account with the company they ask us to provide them with a credit card number for $500 pre-authorization to start the job. While this is not an uncommon practice to charge companies which do not have an pre-approved charge account, what it's uncommon and very troublesome is that they charged the full amount of the job (which is almost 3 times of the pre-authorization request) without calling our company and make us aware that the card will be charged that amount. This is something that never happened to us and this is a lesson to do not give a card away without having first the total of the bill [redacted]
I am not putting this review up to tarnish the company reputation. I'm pretty sure they still have a good one (that was the reason we call them the first time) [redacted]
