[redacted] came in to the store to have the lcd replaced on a macbook air, we offered two solutions first one was to replace the entire top of the macbook air do to the damage or just replace the lcd itself they chose the go with just the lcd... [redacted]...

came to pick up the laptop after the work was done and complained about damage to the mackbook and so I inspected the mackbook and talk to the tech that repaired it... [redacted] claims that the macbook was scratched while we replaced the lcd but there is a cover on the macbook that was never removed so there is nothing I can to for [redacted] there was physical damage to the macbook when it was brought to us and a smashed lcd,

they only offered TWO solutions because I thought the lcd hinges were a bit weak and new ones might be better...the complete LCD would have came with new hinges, just replacing the LCD would not.
The LCD screen was cracked NOT SMASHED...This is not a new MINT macbook...but when I brought it in the LCD protective cover was not cracked, but when I picked it up it was cracked.
the damage was caused when one person closed the lcd to fast. NOT because of an object hitting the top surface and breaking the LCD.
The prior owner informed me (when I bought this macbook used from him) that the protective cover was never removed since the day they bought it new.
So I removed the cover to make sure it was clean...and it was.
So I know that these scratches were NOT there when I dropped off the laptop.
I know the protective cover was also NOT broken, as it wasn't broken when I bought it or dropped it off.
How can you replace the LCD screen without taken the LCD screen housing outer protective cover off? seeing that the cover wraps around the screen housing! how can the protective cover stay on the lcd lid without wrapping around the LCD screen (it has no glue or tape to hold it on)?
thus this is NOT POSSIBLE!
You had to have removed the top cover.
I think what happen was while they were installing the new LCD screen they must have removed the cover and laid the laptop on the screen top which then was scratched while moving the laptop around as they scratches are not long scratches you would get from walking by something and making contact..but are of a odd curved oval-small length...as if they were on something ruff and moving around.
they have also informed me what they have ordered a part for my laptop which im still waiting for them to replace.
I have not received any emails/phone calls/text messages from them on the status of this part.

DO YOU KNOW HOW FAST AND HARD YOU HAVE TO SLAM A MACBOOK TO BREAK THE LCD? VERY HARD IT IS MORE BELIEVABLE THAT THE LAPTOP WAS SMASHED.. AND AS FOR REPLACING THE LCD YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE THE HARD COVER OFF JUST THE BAZEL IN THE FRONT OF IT AS YOU COULD SEE... AND AS FOR THE SCRATCHES THEY MOST LIKELY HAPPENED WHEN THE LAPTOP HIT THE GROUND AT SOME POINT BEFORE YOU BROUGHT IT TO US AS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE BIG DENTED CORNER OF THE MACKBOOK THAT COVERS BOTH THE BASE AND THE LCD. IF YOU WANT THE PART ORDERED TO BE REPLACED YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE PART SINCE IT WAS DAMAGED BEFORE YOU BROUGHT IT IN

I watched the screen being pushed down and the lcd breaking... The laptop already had the small minor debt in the metal lcd cover.
The part I'm still asking you to replace is the front bezel.... Which is now wavy because of you're removal/assembly.
This is the part your tech already said that they will order and will take 4-5 weeks to get.
Are you saying that now you will not fix it?

sorry for the inconvenience but the store policy has been the same for over 10 years, but in this matter it is hard to work with someone whom...

I have had several complaints from employees that have talked with her on the phone and in person from the start of the layaway,
every time we called regarding the layaway we were not greeted in the manner that would be appropriate... but this is what I can offer is that 10% of the sale price of the idem be deducted from the money put towards the layaway the the rest refunded in cash... that would come to a $55 dollar dedution

I would like the money that I gave them. I wasn't made aware of this policy. Once placed on lay way if this was the policy then I would have signed and agreed to these terms. However I didn't. Secondly why should they keep 10% that wasn't in the lay way agreement either. Had I known this was the policy then I wouldn't of contacted anyone. I asked for an extension because I didn't have the money. So why would I be rude or hard to work with? The lady that called me back said she agreed and tried to get the owner to give me my money back but he refused.

well all recites that you were given and signs displayed openly in store say only in store credit only no cash refunds, I do not feel under any obligation to do the refund since you did not forfill the sale of the idem we even granted an extension ... your right it is not real layaway since there is no layaway agreement it is holding an idem for perches that you did not finish paying off, please read what it states on your recite that you were given, it states no cash refunds only store credit and you are the only one to complain in 10 years.... we do not keep a high inventory and when you reserve an idem we are unable to sell it and that is why the store police is what it is,if the offer to you is not acceptable then I have nothing left to offer
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2015/07/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It says only in store credit on returns. It doesn't state anything about refunds on layways. I don't have any merchandise to return, it was never purchased and I wasn't told nor did I sign a receipt that said if the lay way isn't picked up then the money wouldn't be refunded to me. You gave me a week extension and as I explained I needed more than a week. I was told NO. I didn't sign anything that stated terms of the lay way. I would have been willing to a 10% fee of the $200.00 but you wanted me to pay 10% of the cost of the computer. Yet I never purchased it. As you state it wasn't a real layway agreement then what was it? You are illegally taking peoples money holding merchandise and then refusing to give them the money back. You've already admitted to having my money in return for the merchandise now you are saying it wasn't a lay way.
