It was a check the consumer had given to the client and then the consumer stopped payment on the check.The client has provided a copy of the check along with the breakdown of charges. I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted].   The business attempted to merely explain a situation that did not occur. I have followed up with my bank and they have confirmed that there was no check written for [redacted] that was returned for non-sufficient funds. I had requested from the business involved in the complaint verification of this "check" that was returned. To date, the collection agency has failed to verify a check for insufficient funds and is therefore violating the law of the State of NH. Merely making a phone call does not verify any debt. In addition, they have failed to provide any proof of me receiving any documentation from them. The business did not address my complaint with them at all in their response, they merely re-stated what a business had told them. The complaint was in regards to the collection bureau. My requests still remain the same in terms of resolution.
