financial agreement he had with our client as well as an itemized statement of
services provided. We hope this will help Mr*** understand this
debt

Since 1948 Credit Bureau of Farmington has conducted our business in the most ethical manner.  We have never knowingly attempted to collect a debt that was not owed.  On the rare occasion that a debt is paid directly to our client without notifying us, we are always quick to correct any...

negative reflection on the credit report. CBF received three accounts on May 31, 2016 from Four Corners Radiology. Our first notice for the Four Corners Radiology accounts was sent May 31st.  Follow up letters were sent on July 1st and July 15th. On July 15, 2016 CBF received another account from San Juan Regional Medical Center.  Our first and only notice for San Juan Regional Medical Center was sent on July 18th, (the 15th was a Friday and we received the account after the mail was processed). Our first notice is sent to the address we received from our clients.  All of our mail is marked to be returned to us if it is the wrong address.  No mail was returned.  In the mean time we were receiving letters from a “Credit Repair” company for this debtor.  It is our company policy to accelerate the legal review process when debtors work with these companies since the debtor is not willing work with us. We submitted our request for legal action to our clients on August 24, 2016.  This is a formal system to verify that the debt is still owed and the client wishes legal action.   On September 15, 2016 we prepared the suit.  Suit is not possible without the clients verifying the debt, in writing. Both Four Corners Radiology and San Juan Regional Medical Center verified the debts and signed the legal documents. During this process she made demands but at NO TIME did she provide proof of payment to our clients.  Further, our clients have long standing systems to notify us of payment especially once legal action has been initiated. On October 26, she came to the office making demands.  At that time she told me she was being represented by an attorney [redacted].  It is illegal for us to continue to speak with any debtor once we are aware of an attorney’s involvement, so I stopped the conversation.  This is to protect the debtor. On October 27, 2016 she came to the office and paid in full.  We immediately submitted a dismissal to the courts to stop all legal action.  So no Judgment is reflected on the credit report.  At that point we thought the issue was resolved. Today, we checked with San Juan Regional Medical Center to verify the debt was owed on the day legal action was initiated, it was.  They did receive payment, after re-billing insurance, on November 7, 2016.  A refund was scheduled to be sent on November 14, 2016.  At the time of the suit, the balance was still owing. We also checked with Four Corners Radiology today.  They did receive payments from Aetna, the debtor’s insurance company.  The amounts referred to CBF were deductibles thus patient responsibility.  They received no other payments from the patient, only through us. The letters from the “credit repair” company sparked the legal action.  The expenses we incurred were paid to the Magistrate Court and to our attorney.  This is money we spent and can legally recoup from the debtor.  We are always working to settle accounts peacefully; it was the debtor’s actions with the “credit repair” company that cost everyone involved extra expenses. Therefore, no money was collected that was not owed and no additional refund is warranted.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].  There was a clear distortion of the facts presented in CBF's response and omission of the complete lack of professionalism regarding the treatment of my wife when merely requesting information on a suit that was brought against us for a debt incurred as a result of CBF's client billing error (see attachments demonstrating no debt on our part).  As a result of their client's error we incurred significant cost and inconvenience not to mention subjection to unscrupulous business practices and the individuals operating the collection agency (CBF).  Documentation of payment by the insurance company has been attached to validate my assertion.  The receipt for $994.82 for extorted payment to CBF for invalid debt and associated legal fees is also attached. Many of the Mafia organizations have origins back to the late 19th century.  Business longevity does not infer integrity.  I do not wish to further pursue this matter under threat of retribution by CBF.
