Credit Service Company, Inc Reviews (1)

Review: This company is reporting false, dergotory information to three the credit bureaus. I was unware of a small fee outstanding and it went to their office. Once I found out about it, I paid it. That was almost a year ago. They are still reporting it as an unpaid item in collection. I have brought this to the attention of "[redacted]" who has demanded a copy of my private credit report before he will update the information. This is a bizzare and unwarrented request. His customer service skills are also lacking.Desired Settlement: I would like them to report the information accurately to the three credit bureaus. They are currently in violation of Federal law. I would like them to obey the law.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Credit Service Company Inc. made the decision to place a negative item on my credit report with all three bureaus. Because they made the decision to place the negative item on my report, they are responsible for making sure that it is reporting accurately at all times. I have paid the item in question. I have proof that I would gladly turn over to the Revdex.com if requested. Yet, it is currently (reporting almost a year after I paid it) that it is still an unpaid collection to all three bureaus. I am not responsible for their mistake. I have been more then cooperative in this matter. I have notified them on three occasions that they were in direct violation of Federal Law and needed to address the issue. They chose to do nothing thus literally forcing me to enlist the services of the Revdex.com to help in this matter. If there is any party who is unwilling to cooperate, it has been Credit Service Company Inc. Credit Service Company has broken the law. Having a large work load does not excuse Credit Service Company from having to obey the law. Mr. [redacted] was willing to take the time to respond to my complaint yet he claims that he is incapable of contacting the bureaus in order to verify what he is posting on someone's credit report is accurate because he has no time. Credit Service Company claims that the only way they are willing to obey the law is only if they receive a copy of my private, personal credit report. This is an unnecessary requirement that can only be defined as inexcusable bullying. They did not need me to send them my credit report when they placed the item on my credit but suddenly they now need it to update the very item they placed? It makes no sense. There is no justification for breaking the law. There is no jusifty the financial injury this false, derogatory reporting has caused me. I don't care if Credit Service Company has 50 files or 500,000. That is irrelevant. They are legally bound to provide accurate information to the Credit Bureaus at all times. If they can't handle their work load, perhaps they should not be in business. I will not accept their conditions in this matter. I believe they should cooperate with me since they have broken the law and I have not. All it would take is an email or a phone call to the credit bureaus. That is all I am asking them for. I would not hand my house keys to a criminal and I will not hand my credit report to a renegade collection agency that does not obey the law and is more concerned with bullying people then operating a legitimate business. They have no credibility to speak of and thus are unworthy of my trust. I will, in one last attempt to reconcile the issue, make a final offer. If they wish to enlist my services in aiding them with getting back to a legal, legitimate status, I will agree to turn over a version of my credit reports. That version will show only information relating exclusively to the item in question and NOTHING else. Upon recieving this information, Credit Service Company Inc. will also receive a bill of no less then $60.00 for the cost of the credit reports, certified mail, and my time. They will be expected to correct the information immediately upon receiving the credit reports and bill and payment must be made within 30 days. I will give them the information they are asking for if they pay for it, otherwise they can choose to cease their bullying, contact the bureaus, correct the information, and pay nothing. Just to clarify this is in no way, shape or form a settlement offer for the financial injury their illegal activity has caused me. That will be another discussion entirely. I also ask the Revdex.com to react accordingly so that this business knows that it can not get away with operating outside the law and bullying citizens.

Response:

Credit Service Co., Inc. has over 500,000 files we report every month to the three main credit bureaus. Once a collection item is paid it is reported to the bureaus as such. Without the consumers cooperation we have no way of pin pointing where or if there even is a mistake to be fixed. Being a collection agency we are constantly asked to remove items from a consumer's credit report which too is a violation of the FCRA. Without the consumer's cooperation Credit Service Co., Inc. has done everything it can to try and fix the problem if there in fact is a problem to fix. Thank you.

Response:

According to our software technicians there is no way this account was reported from the office of Credit Service Co., Inc. The software does not show this account as being reported. Since the list amount is $25 both the programming and the Credit Bureaus themselves will not list the account because the balance is too small.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9506573, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I offered Mr. [redacted] the opportunity to resolve the issue in question. I offered to send him a copy of the item that his company is falsely and illegally reporting on my credit report. My only request was that his company pay for the cost of collecting and mailing the evidence only AFTER he recieved and reviewed it. I also offered him an alternative route which would have cost his company nothing and yet yielded the same results. I believe my offer was not only fair but generous considering the fact that I am not the party who is breaking the law. His response appeared to resort to paranoid conspiracy theories that I have somehow invented this problem for an undisclosed or unknown sinister motive. In fact the amount he referenced in his letter was not the amount that I paid his company. I paid nearly thirty dollars and it was reported to all three credit bureaus and is still reporting to all three credit bureaus as unpaid almost a year after I paid it. He was given the opportunity to see the proof and he refused to accept it. If he was so afraid that I was lying, I can't imagine why he wouldn't accept my offer and simply not pay me if I didn't provide the evidence I said I had. It makes no sense. The truth is that I have made this company aware of this problem four times now. Each time (until Mr. [redacted]'s letter) they have acknowledged the fact that the item was reporting to the credit bureaus but they weren't going to do anything about it. They have been rude and unprofessional. They have been acting like a bully expecting me to capitulate to their intrusive and unreasonable demands (they can't even be trusted to tell the truth about what I had to pay them but I'm supposed to trust them with my confidential credit information? Wow). Since I have yet to capitulate, it seems that they are struggling to get their story straight and have now officially lied to the Revdex.com about the dollar amount of the item in question. How disappointing. Thank you for your time and attempting to aid in resolving this matter. Unfortunately it would appear that Credit Service Company would rather not resolve this matter.
