Creekside South Apartments

The apartment complex would not return my money after they were double paid.
The apartment complex was using the services of a management company named Topaz Asset Management but replaced them toward the end of November. Before they were replaced, Topaz used an online payment system to collect tenants' rent automatically every month. After replacing Topaz, the new management company notified the community that the online payment system would no longer be functional and that payments would have to be made by cashiers check. Around November 28th, I paid my rent via cashiers check. However, on December 2nd, an automatic payment went through my account for my rent. I informed the owner of the situation and she returned my cashiers check as well as gave me $10 off next month's rent for the trouble. I also attempted to cancel the reoccurring transaction. I once again paid my rent on December 27th with a cashiers check. However, on January 2nd I see that my account has once again been debited for the amount of my rent. I checked online once again and fully cancelled my account to try to prevent this in the future. I discussed the issue with the leasing office and *** Asset Management. The leasing office said they would look into it but I did not hear back from them for the rest of the day. Finally, they told me that they no longer work with Topaz so they can not help me. I tried to explain that it has to go into their account but they say I need to go to my bank to handle it. I was able to confirm through Topaz that they don't receive the rent payments; that their system simply processes the payment and they go into the owners' accounts. I finally ordered a stop payment at my bank to return the funds, but my bank charged me $28 for the service. Overall, I am wholly disappointed on how this situation was handled. The Commons Apartments managers were completely unhelpful and dismissive of my concerns, and their refusal to investigate the situation or refund the erroneous payment would have amounted to theft if my bank did not return the extra payment back to me.

7/30/18 gave money order for deposit & still no refund, no return calls from office nor corporate
On 7/30/2018 I gave property manager *** my $114 money order for application fee & deposit for an apartment that as it shows wasn't approved for so drake advised that corporate would issue refund back to my address on the application in which I had already moved from & he advised he would send email to corporate to advise to change address. 3 months pass I call office again only to be advised he didn't know what was going on & out of his hand so I should call back to speak with his boss *** Call her & she advised the same thing & their only form of communication with their accounting department would be through corporate via email. & now almost 6 months later I'm still being advised the same thing even after calling & leaving voicemails for their corporate office no one has still reached out I was even advised by drake that there was 3 other people having the same issues so we should call corporate because there is nothing else he would do as it is completely out of his hands since he emailed corporate months ago & still haven't gotten a response.
