Review: By June 2013 I had signed a contract and placed a deposit in good faith for reservations at the Creole Inn for July 2013. The Creole Inn requires that guests sign a contract waiving the right to get a refund based on cancellation of reservations. I did not cancel our reservations. Upon arrival, accommodations were not commensurate with their claim of ". . .highly reduced rates as compared to competitors." The rates were $79 per night for a two room suite. While I received a confirmation of the reservation, there was no confirmation of my full payment. After entering their lobby, there was a pervasive smell of mold and mustiness. Upon entry into the room, the smell of mold was overpowering. My significant other and I both began experiencing congestion, coughing, and headaches. We observed an air filter unit running at full power. Inside of the air vent in the wall, we observed black growth with black patches and then black dots at the edges. There were similar patches across the bathroom ceiling. After 20 minutes, we went downstairs, and informed the employee who had shown us our room that we could not stay. The reason we gave was sinus headache related to mold. The employee said that it was an old house, and was to be expected. No offer of room change or rescheduling of reservation was given, as per the contract. The mold and age were not mentioned and pictured on their website. Moreover, clean sheets were advertised on the website for where we were to stay, the Sweet Dreams Suite. The bedding had a stain and remnant of body fluid. We have contacted the Creole Inn requesting a refund, and to register a complaint with a manager and the owner. The employee who answered the phone refused to give the full name of any individual to whom we could send a formal written letter to any party responsible for owning, managing, or working for the business. They will only give out a general email address, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund for the quoted total price (including tax) of $368. Thank you for your time and attention.
