Cress Gas Reviews (3)

I've been a Cress customer for 28 years, but ever since they were bought out by Amerigas (I think), they have been horrible. They sent a long list of new terms with new fees for items that have always been included as part of the service. Historically, their propane rates had always been less than the cost of regular gasoline at the pump, but they are now much higher than that. After complaining, they said that they would give me a lower rate, but instead of applying that discount to my current delivery, they sent me a contract for future deliveries. Since I have a 500 gallon tank and get propane 3 -4 times per year, I was only able to get 1 delivery at the discounted price; at the time, that was the normal going rate for propane, anyway. Also, they have shown up for deliveries when we were nowhere near needing them. This never happened when they were Cress Gas. Every time they show up to top us off, I incur all these new charges as they apply to every delivery. They also lie about competitors and their rates. When I repeated some of what they said to one company, the rep laughed and said that she hears Cress's lies "all the time". I used to love this company, but I hate then now and would never recommend them to anyone.

Review: I was notified in the fall of 2013 to call Cress Gas when our propane level was at 30% and if we did not and we ran out of propane we would be charged a $55.00 fee to check the lines for leaks. I called Cress on Feb. 4th 2014 and told the secretary in the office we were at 30% and would like our tank filled, but I also asked them if we could have $500.00 dollars worth of propane because that is all we could afford at this time, she said no problem, we should expect them with in 7 to 10 days.

I called again on Feb 12th 2014 and told the secretary we were at 15% now, she said ok she would give her driver the update.

I called again on Feb 21st 2014 and told the secretary we were at 5% now, she said she would update this with the dispatcher.

I called again today Feb 25th and told the secretary we could not even do a reading because the level is too low we cant see the number, she said we have done everything we should have done but they are so backed up because of the snow and bad weather, I told her I need to know when we are gonna get a delivery because I need to make other arraignments if we run out of heat. She assured me I would get a call today. That was two hours ago now, I understand that the weather has put them behind but they should be making sure that their customers do not run out. We can not just call another company because we have their tanks underground and no one else will fill them.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter of apology from the company and an explanation of how we can avoid this from happening again.
