Review: We brought the car in for service at Crest, the dealership where we purchased the car, to repair an automatic stick shift that intermittenly got stuck in the parked position. This is a known problem with many Lincoln Aviator and Navigator vehicles. After spending close to $1,300 to repair the problem we are still having intermittent issues with the stick shift being stuck in the parked position. We brought the car back to Crest and told them that the new stick shift is still getting stuck just like the old stick shift. Clearly the orginal problem is still not fixed, however, we have been charged for work that has not fixed the problem. When my husband met with the Director of Service at Crest, [redacted], he was very rude, confrontational and defensive. He told my husband that when the problem happens, again, to stick a screwdriver in the emergency relief lever to release the stick shift out of the stuck position. This is a horrible and unsafe solution. He said they looked, again, for why this was happening but could not identify the problem and there was nothing else they could do to fix the problem. Having paid all of this money without fixing the problem we came in for is unacceptable. We are extremely upset about their attitude and reluctance to do whatever it took to fix the problem. It is completely unfair for this dealership to take money from us when the problem identified was not fixed satisfactorily.
Desired Settlement: I want either a new stick shift or some other solution that fixes the problem or I want my money back.

Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle to Crest in January.
At that time we found the shifter had a bad solinoid. We did replace the shifter at Mr. [redacted] expense.
In April Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle back for the same concern. We tested the shifter many, many times and we were unable to find any issue at that time. As a good will jester we replaced the brake light switch. We did not charge for the brake light switch or the labor.
I did call Mr. [redacted] today 5/6/13. I asked him to come in at his convenience to demonstrate the issue.
The shifter we installed had a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.
I will also check with the Ford hotline to see if they have any other known issues. I will call Mr. [redacted] after I here back from the Ford hotline.
