Creve Coeur Assisted Living & Memory Care

I am rejecting this response because:
I emphatically reject the Creve Coeur Assisted Living & Memory Care (CCAL) response as it contains a number of inaccuracies and/or omissions that can be verified by numerous family members and
Mercy hospital personnel
• I have no issue with the 2/28/modate or 3/18/date my mom went to the hospital
• Beginning with 3/23/in the timeline of events, the only statement that I agree with is the last sentence, “Social Worker was made aware Armida Voss could return to Creve Coeur.” My mom’s health was improving through Thursday 3/22/but by Friday 3/23/she developed a UTI and took a turn for the worseAbout noon on 3/23/18, the social worker told me that my mom may be released the weekend although it was based on information from the day before and subject to changeThe social worker also told me that CCAL would need to do an assessment before she could returnWe do not know when CCAL would have performed an assessment on 3/23/We are not aware of one and if one was performed it certainly was not communicated to the Voss family or the Mercy Hospital personnel who we spoke with that day
• As mentioned in my initial complaint, my family and the Mercy social workers were informed by CCAL medical personnel including the Memory Care Manager and Director of Wellness that my mom was cleared to return to CCAL to be admitted to hospice to be with my dadIt was not until late in the day on Good Friday 3/30/that the Mercy Social Worker informed us that the decisions of the CCAL medical staff were apparently overruled and my mother could not return to CCALAn offer was made to CCAL through the social worker to hire additional private duty CNA care-givers and CCAL management rejected the offerFollowing four days of consternation and searching for alternate living arrangements for my parents in what turned out to be my mom’s last days, including a telephone call early the morning of Wednesday 4/3/with a good friend of hers who is a Priest, I made the decision to move them to their house in East Alton, IL under the care of hospice and a home health agency
• My mom passed away at 3:a.mthe morning of 4/4/so there was no discussion with CCAL about wanting to take her back home on that day or any other dayTheir statement is misleading and must be based on information they received after-the-factTaking her back home was a last resort after they kicked her out of their facilityWe did not want them to be able to do that to my dad so that is why we moved him out
• I did not receive a copy of the Residency Agreement documents that I signed as promised, however, I was aware of the day notice required by both partiesSince CCAL gave us a ZERO day notice by not allowing my mom to return to their facility, the day written from the resident would not apply and CCAL is in breach of contractCCAL owes a refund for the full month of services not performed for my momAfter the uncaring manner in the handling of my mom’s situation, the position they are taking in regard to a refund for the month they did nothing for her and put the family under tremendous stress is unconscionable and unethical, at best
