Review: We paid Crewcut Lawn Care for one season of "total lawn care" that includes weekly cutting of lawn, removal of cuttings, weeding, fertilizing, edging, etc...Total Lawn Care for one season. So far they have shown up twice to cut the grass and the lawn has become the joke of the neighborhood...often looking overgrown and filled with weeds! We are afraid that the Town of [redacted] is going to issue us a warning and then a fine. We can provide you with a copy of our contract/invoice from Crewcut. Both my wife and I are tired of calling Crewcut to complain that our lawn needs to be cut...and we had to drive over there and provide them with a copy of our invoice.contract since Crewcut said they could not find their copy and therefore were not sure what they had sold us as far as services. They promised us total lawn care and a professional looking lawn and they are not providing us with what they promised and what we paid for!Desired Settlement: We want Crewcut to provide what they sold us in a professinal and timely manner...Weeding of Landscaope Beds, 4 Lawn Care Applications, Core Aeration, Over-Seeding, Lawn Care Grbu Control, Lawn Care Lime/Potassium, Pruing of Landscape Shrubs and 25 visits to mow and care lawn on a weekly basis for the season. We prepaid the season to them with a personal check in the amount of $1,230. If they do not want to honor their contract or if they cannot honor their contract with us, then we require a full refund of $1,230 since we will have to hire another landscaper to do their work.

Review: This problem falls under several "natures" - failure to honor a contract or agreement, failure to respond to phone calls or written requests for assistance, the late and non-delivery of products, improper or inferior service, & unreasonable or excessive delay in providing services.

On 9/23/14, I entered into a contract with Crewcut Lawn Care to provide landscape and yard maintenance services. Although I was the signor of the contract, as specified in the contract the work was to be completed at my mother's house at [redacted] PA [redacted]. The total cost of all services was $10,250.00, payable in 3 installments. $5250.00 was paid up front, $2500.00 was paid the next day when the work was started. The remaining balance of $2500.00 was due upon completion of the work. Ben Scheirer, the owner of the company, told me that all of the landscaping work and some of the yard work, such as initial treatments for carpenter ants in trees, would be completed in 1 week. The contract also included some maintenance items, such as lawn mowing, which would be completed over the course of the next 3 years.

The contract was signed 9/23/14, & the landscaping should have been completed in 1 week, which would have been 9/30/14. Today is 11/11/14, & the landscaping & yard work promised for completion in 1 week is still not finished. At this point it cannot be completed until Spring because, in addition to other incomplete items, the plants have not been planted and it is too late in the season to do it now. Considering that the verbal contract was that the work would be completed in 1 week, the fact that it has now been 7 weeks and the work still is not finished is, in my opinion, an excessive delay.

I have called Ben and left voice mail messages numerous times. I have also sent him emails and received no response. I have received returned calls and emails early in the contract relationship, but have not received any response to calls or emails sent over the past 3-4 weeks. This falls under the complaint category of a failure to respond to phone calls or written requests for assistance.

As stated above, the verbal contract was that the work would be completed in 1 week. I understand that outdoor work is subject to weather and it has rained on some days. However, it has not rained every day. After much begging for information, Ben's associate Ashley informed me that there were delays in getting supplies and a certification update that Ben needed to handle the chemicals to treat for carpenter ants. On 10/12/14, Ben finally responded to and email indicating that the work should be completed within the week. Again, it is now 11/11/14, and the work has still not been finished.

I have attempted to contact Ben regarding some items that he had started that weren't to my satisfaction. He did not return phone calls so I emailed him with all of the details regarding what wasn't to my satisfaction and what it would take to complete the work satisfactorily. I have received no response and the work that was unsatisfactory at the time is still unsatisfactory.

As mentioned previously, the final balance of $2500.00 was due upon completion of the work. Ben's associate Ashley went to my mother's house and said they needed $2000.00 or the $2500.00 balance because of some issues they were having with a supplier, or something to that effect. Unfortunately, I do not know the exact date this happened. My mother was not feeling well that day & didn't have all of her faculties about her, so she gave Ashley the check. I am very disappointed and angry with Crewcut Lawn Care for this. I can think of no reason why the money we had already paid them would not cover supplies, especially when the contract terms were that the final $2500.00 was due upon completion of the work. I feel that Crewcut violated the contract and took advantage of my mother.Desired Settlement: As I explained in the email I sent to Ben on 10/30/14, I want Ben and his team to complete the work that has been started, but complete it to my satisfaction. I explained in that email exactly what that means. I also do not want him to start any work that has not been started & I want a refund of $2817.00 payable by cashier's check or money order and made payable to [redacted]. The cashier's check/money order should be mailed to [redacted], GA [redacted]. The $2817.00 is for services paid for but not provided. An itemized list of those services was provided with the 10/30/14 email to [redacted]

Review: A Ben s[redacted],came to my house to give me an estimate for my lawn to be cut weekly,he is the owner of crewcutlawncare ,he stated they were running a special I could save 130.00 if I prepaid 500.00 for 20 cuts once a week.I agreed to this he sent me my contract this was the first week of July,2014they have not been coming every week and now it has been over two and a half weeks and they will not respond to my phone calls or e-mails,I do not know what to do anymore,I am lucky if they came five timesDesired Settlement: I will be happy if they cut my grass and are not upset and destroy my property because I rent and it is my responsibility to do the lawn,if they do not want to come I want to be reimbused

Review: I "hired" Crewcut Lawn Service to provide lawn cutting services. Our Agreement required them to provide 30 cuttings for $500.00 over the course of the summer. I paid them and they cashed the check within hours of receipt but failed to provide services. They cut the lawn only 3 times and each time only under duress. They do not respond to telephone calls or emails. Since it is clear they do not intend to honor the agreement, I asked them to refund the balance of the $500. They have not done so. My neighbors can attest to the fact that they have shown up only 3 times.Desired Settlement: The agreement must be honored. They must either provide weekly services or refund my money. If they fail to do so, I am willing to pursue legal action to prevent them from continuing this fraud with other unsuspecting potential customers.

If you are planning any outdoor or landscaping projects around your home I want to warn you about using a company called "Crewcut Lawn Care" from Catasauqua, PA stay away, you won't be pleased with their work. I am trying now to get my money back for the terrible job they did on my patio.

Review: 6/16/14

Crew Cut Lawn Care gave me a verbal estimate for completing a paver sidewalk. Ben S[redacted], owner, said he could do the work the week of 6/23/14 and would call me by the end of the week to schedule. I gave him a check for $1000 made payable to Ben S[redacted] as a deposit on the $1650 job but did not get a written contract, obviously my first mistake. Making the check payable to him personally instead of Crew Cut Lawn Care may have been a red flag, too. However, Crew Cut Lawn Care had done work for me in the past, so I was comfortable making these arrangements in a less formal manner. It turns out Mr. S[redacted] cashed my check the same day I gave it to him. I found out later, he went on vacation with his girlfriend shortly after that.

6/20/14

I still hadn't heard from Mr. S[redacted] so I tried calling but no one answered at the office phone and his cell phone voice mailbox was full. I continued to get the msg that the voice mailbox was full for 4 days. Between 6/20/14 and 6/25/14, I left several messages on all 3 extensions available at the office phone, Facebook messaged him and texted him.

6/25/14

I contacted Mr. S[redacted]'s girlfriend via Facebook message. About a minute later, Mr. S[redacted] texted me to say I don't need to be contacting his family or significant other about business. Knowing he was with his cell phone at that moment, I called Mr. S[redacted] right away and he answered. This is the first he communicated to me since 6/16/14. I explained I was not happy with the lack of communication and it has caused me a lot of unneeded frustration. I requested my money back, to which he said he already purchased the materials. I told him that’s on him; we have no contract, therefore nothing to say my deposit is non-refundable. Mr. S[redacted] offered to do the work for the $1000 I had already paid him. However, after the experience trying to communicate with him, I declined and said I wanted my money back.

He wanted to call me back to tell me when he would bring the check but I said who knows when I would hear from him again, tell me now. I suggested Thursday morning, 6/26/14, before 11:00 a.m., to which he agreed.

6/26/14

I received a call from the Office Mgr (who is only in the office 3 days a week). She said she had messages from many customers trying to reach Mr. S[redacted] and he had left her with a mess. I explained my situation and that there is probably no record of my information because he did not write an estimate. I explained he was to bring me a check that morning but he did not and it was past the agreed upon time. She said she would try contacting him and get back to me. She did call me back but said she could not reach him because he was at a job site.

6/26/14

Randy, the Operations Manager called me later in the day. He said “Ben usually listens to me, if anyone” and he would have him take care of it. Randy assured me I would have my check on Friday, 6/27/14. At this point Mr. S[redacted] had totally stopped communicating with me.

6/27/14

I still did not receive my check and now Operations Manager Randy is slower at returning my calls and texts. I sent a text that evening to tell Randy, if I did not have my check in hand by noon on Saturday, I would be filing with the Revdex.com. Late on Saturday morning, Randy texted me that he would not see Mr. S[redacted] until Monday but he would have him drop off the check that day. I told him I would be filing a complaint as I stated previously.Desired Settlement: I would like my $1000 back so I can hire someone else to do the work.

Thank you.
