Review: I entered into a contract with this company on November **, 2014. I was told that the service comes with lifetime guarantee. I was informed that the company will come out repeatedly if needs be to deal with any recurring pest nuisance. I received their help 3 times but the pests are still there. Now I am trying to contact them again but it seems like the company has now been dissolved. No-one is answering the calls. This is frustrating to me. What can I do?Desired Settlement: I think I desire a refund for services since the mice have not left the building even though I have tried every thing possible. I was relying on their lifetime guarantee but now I will have to find another company. PLEASE HELP!
Review: I hired Critter Control to take care of some mice and bees back in August of 2014. They inspected my house and told me that I had bats and mice in my attic, termites, and wasps nests outside. They said it would cost over $8,000 to remedy the situation and that it would cover me for the life of my house. I signed the contract agreeing to pay half upfront ($4,321.59) for the work, thinking that they were telling me the truth, as they were recommended by a friend. A neighbor convinced me to hire another company to check things out the next day. I was told that I did not have bats or rats in my attic. They also told me that it was mating season for bats and that killing them would be against the law. Critter Control seemed to have no problem with it. Critter Control also told me that they took care of a wasps nest but the company I hired the day after critter control came said they didn't touch a thing. I decided to call Critter Control the next day to cancel the contract. They told me that the contract could not be canceled and that I was responsible to pay or they would put a lean on my house. I decided to call my credit card to put a stop to the payment. They told me the payment would never go through but somehow Critter Control was still able to charge me in early January, 2015. Critter Control refuses to issue a refund after doing absolutely nothing and after lying about the work that needed to be done. I was under the impression that by law, I had 3 days to cancel a contract. The fact that Critter Control charged my card after having canceled the contract in a timely manner makes me feel like I was taken advantage of and stolen from. I also feel this company is scamming people. They need to be investigated.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $4,321.59 and would like Critter Control to be investigated.

Response:
[redacted] contacted us and requested our help with insect and wildlife problems she was having. Out Wildlife Specialist inspected her home and found multiple issues. [redacted] had evidence of termite infestation, bees, rats, mice and bats. Our Specialist took photographs of the evidence. [redacted] was given a price to take care of theses problems that included dusting her stone wall for bees, installing termite bait stations (to be monitored at least once per month spring summer and fall) around the perimeter of her house, removing or excluding all wildlife (we do not kill bats. exclusion is done from the first week in August through to the first week in May to assure that babies are able to leave on their own), sealing up and repairing all entry points in her home, decontaminating, disinfecting and deodorizing two attics, removing the old contaminated insulation and installing new insulation with pest control properties. We were to also clean the rodent mess from under her sink and repair/replace the insulation in her crawlspace. We gave [redacted] a 5% senior discount. [redacted] wanted this done as soon as possible (this was a[redacted]) and we rescheduled two jobs from the following[redacted] so we could perform the work for her as soon as possible. [redacted] understood that because of this her deposit was nonrefundable. [redacted] was very excited to have the work done and asked us to please take a lot of pictures because "her children would think she was crazy if she didn't have proof". We sent our team out to do the work on [redacted] but one of [redacted]'s children or children's husband called to cancel the job. We never charged [redacted] for the balance of the job. We offered to complete the work for [redacted] for only the amount of the deposit she had paid and not charge her the balance because we felt that the situation presented a possible health hazard and our goal is to help people. That offer still stands.
