Cross Country Moving Company Reviews (%countItem)

This was our first out of state move and we were very cautious with who we chose. We didn't know what a good price was or what sort of service options were best. So we took tons of time to read online and called around to every place that seemed capable of doing the move. *** was very nice over the phone and dedicated a lot of time to answer our questions over the phone and send additional info via email. They didn't push us to schedule asap over the phone.
They also explained how they handle the long moves. For anyone looking for info about long distance moves. Do your research as much as you can because there are some shady companies out there. Thankfully *** movers was not one of them. Our move ended being great. No damage and person we encountered treated us very well.

Had an elderly family member moved from her home in south Florida to an assisted living facility in West Palm Beach/ Boca area. She did not have much. Two gentlemen came and in under 2 hours were loaded up and met me at the living facility. Nothing was damaged or missing upon arrival. We paid what I felt was a fair price and was very pleased with the service I was provided.

BUYER BEWARE: 2 stars for the movers and the initial experience: professional, kind movers, nice assessor and on time delivery. Removed 3 stars for bait-and-switch pricing and one particularly terrible customer service representative. We moved with them cross country and while the move was relatively uneventful (some minor damage to our bedroom furniture), they lie when it comes to their pricing. They will blatantly contradict things that they've put in writing and insinuate that you are in the wrong. When you see that they owe you money based on their own agreement, they may claim that it is an error in their template. When they tell you that pricing is based on items, they turn around and say it's actually based on cubic footage. Nope. Not a trustworthy company. They wasted a lot of our time, ignored logic and basic math when having it pointed out that they'd overcharged us, insulted our intelligence and then implied that we were trying to exploit them. And for some reason, they have their most abrasive employee field the customer service issues. Never again. Can't recommend them because of their dishonest business practices.

Stay away from this company. Can't even imagine the good reviews have any merit. Such lies. They are no different from van line listings where drivers and trucks are contracted out. Very poor quality of planning from beginning to the very end of delivery. Starting with wrongful expectations to lock in a client (told me it would take a total of 8 days, in fact it took 21 days to complete delivery after pickup of all packaged items.) Why? Because they decided to do additional pickup jobs in between. Had our goods sitting in a truck for a full week before driving anywhere! Was I notified of this delay and added jobs to our truck? NO. Actually was ignored for a few days around the time delivery was expected until obscure sales representatives called me to just say, "this is what happens." Absolutely nonsense and shady. The main person in contact at company *** is a fraud, and I was declined to speak with upper management or owner. Not only did we have to move around several hotels and spend more money to accommodate our 3 WEEK wait when we expected it to be 10 days MAX, but also the amount of stress and anxiety of having to deal with such unprofessional, unorganized and bad attitude of movers was painful to say the least. Lets list what else also happened:
- Ignored service call for updates
- Tardy and bad attitude of guys mixed into a messy group
- Trying to post payments even before goods are delivered (clearly stated as 24hrs in contract)
- Damaged goods as a result of poor packing
PLEASE STAY AWAY. ABSOLUTE WORSE EXPERIENCE.

I want to start off by saying I normally don't write reviews because I don't think people should acknowledge a business for doing what they're suppose to do. This was a different case because Cross Country really made a lot of extra effort that I haven't seen most movers do. The little things like repacking boxes that I packed in a hurry, labeling and the best part happened at the end. When I got to my new place in Bellevue, WA the movers didn't just put down boxes and leave. They helped organize boxes in correct rooms and position bar stools and furniture so I would have less work unpacking. Not your typical movers at all.

Cross country's service was top notch. The 4 man team was very friendly and really put their backs into it. Our family has a lot of bulky large items that would throw off your average person but the crew packed and moved of these things like champs. They took less time then estimated which made this made this move way less of a hassle then I was predicting. Nothing turned up broken, scratched or missing. Best decision ever! Two guys lifted and gently placed our 200lb elliptical in the truck and later in its new home without a problem.
