Cross County Service Reviews (1)

Review: My car was damaged and I at that time October 2013 had $500.00 deductible. I visited a garage in New Rochelle and was advised that it would cost in total to repair $400.00. I live in Yonkers and wanted to leave my money in my home neighborhood. I visited [redacted] at Cross County Service Station in Yonkers in late October 2013. He advised he could complete the damage repair for a total of $350.00. I revisited the garage on Thursday November * and discussed the arrangements with [redacted] and he advised again the total cost would be $350.00. I asked if I paid in cash would I get a discount, he said yes bring the cash and I will work with you. I asked about paperwork and he said I did not need it (and he also repeated this statement to the police who became involved) he shook my hand and I left.I dropped off my car for repair on Friday November *, 2013. He said he would not be working on Sunday but would make arrangements to leave the car with the gas attendant so I could pick up the repaired car. When I arrived on Sunday to pick up my car the attendant gave me a bill for $776.76. The police arrived and I was advised to pay the amount and take him to small claims court. He also agreed to touch up the rear bumper that was chipped and he also did not do this work.Desired Settlement: I don't know how you proceed, but if you contact [redacted] at Cross County Service -Kimball Ave Getty and we can agree on a settlement that I can agree to that is fine with me. If not, I have no recourse but to try to get my money back in small claims court. He did not act in good faith and is trying to take advantage of a senior citizen. After I realized that the cost of the damage was less than my deductible I changed my deductible to $1,000 with Geico. This will further reinforce my case.

Response:

To whom it may concern,

In Reference to complaint # [redacted] filed on 11/**/2013.

On 10/**/2013 I had a customer come to my repair shop requesting a quote for work on her vehicle which was a 2009 Nissan Altima which was involve in a collision of the front left fender and front bumper. The quote was for $350.00

to repair and repaint the left front fender and $350.00 for replacing and repainting the front bumper. I told [redacted] the job will take 2 days to complete. The customer left my shop. [redacted] called me on Friday 11/*/2013 stating she wants to do the job and will drop off the car 11/*/2013 On Wednesday 11/**/2013 [redacted] dropped off the car and gave the keys to my gas attendant because the repair shop was closed.

The next day 11/*/2013, I called [redacted] and I asked her what would she like us to do and she stated

"Go ahead and repair the car for me" We at that point repaired her fender and her front bumper. The total cost of the job was $700.00. On Friday 11/*/2013 I called the customer an told her vehicle is ready and that she can pick it up. She stated she was not able to pick up the car right away but will pick it up in the evening. I stated to [redacted] the following " that's fine you can pick it up any time before 10pm except Sunday because we are closed that day".

[redacted] naturally came to pick up the car Sunday Evening at 8pm while the repair shop was closed.

She made a scene because she told the attendant that I quoted her $350.00 and that's all she brought with her. The attendant informed her that he is not able to adjust the invoice, only the repair shop Manager can do that. She asked him to call the manager or the boss at home so we can release her vehicle immediately. The gas attendant explained to [redacted] that he was unable to call anyone on Sunday except for emergencies, she at that point walked behind the counter and snatched her keys from the attendants hands. My attendant call the Yonkers Police and they responded. They informed [redacted] that she needed to return the keys to the attendant and if she wants her car tonight she need to pay the bill in full which was $776.76.

She paid the bill and Iwas informed of the incident the next morning which was on Monday 11/**/13.

I reached out to [redacted] that morning and she stated that we quoted her $350.00 for the job. I explained to her that when I quoted her for this job, I told her it will cost $350.00 per panel and she recalled that conversation however, she stated " I only wanted the fender done and not the bumper". When [redacted] came for the original quote, I explained to her that the car will look ridiculous if we fix the fender and leave the bumper damaged, she agreed.

So let's just say " when she dropped off the car, there was a misunderstanding on exactly what she wanted

done". I agreed to reimburse her $426.76 to keep her as a customer.

The issue was resolve on 11/**/2013 at 11:30am by refunding [redacted] $426.76

Should you have any questions please call [redacted] @ [redacted]
