Review: My 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with a cavity. Our insurance, [redacted], would not allow her to see the pediatric dentist, so we made an appointment with the regular oral surgeon.

When we got to the appointment, yes I said I preferred to see the pediatric dentist, but I said let's see what the oral surgeon says. The doctor looked at the chart as per the assistant, and the surgeon said she wanted my daughter to see the pediatric dentist. At checkout, Cross Keys Family Dental office manager [redacted], said I needed to call the insurance company to her an authorization number for the treatment. After waiting on hold withe the insurance company for 1 1/2 hours, the insurance company informed me that the office manager should have known how to alleviate this issue. Which is the following, she needed to get the oral surgeon to write a referral for the pediatric dentist. If they had problems, they can call [redacted] to alleviate the issue. When I called the office manager back, she said I needed to make yet another appointment for another regular oral surgeon, which I made for the the following day. When I came back the following day, I was in the schedule for the regular dentist, and I spoke with the dentist (Dr. [redacted]) and told him what I was told yesterday, and he said that is fine, he would write the referral for Dr. [redacted]. Then, I saw Dr. [redacted], and he performed the procedure. At checkout, the assistant tells me I'm responsible for the entire procedure. I told her that was not the case, and I would be in contact withe the insurance company.

After holding on the insurance company for 1 1/2 hours and conferencing in the office manager, the insurance agent informs me that [redacted] informed her that I lied and refused to see anyone but Dr. [redacted], and therefore, she was not going to have the referral written because I didn't see the regular dentist. This is untrue, and has wasted hours of my time and energy. They are probably going to bill me unjustly.Desired Settlement: Someone besides the office manager, [redacted] needs to call me back to tell me that they have filled the insurance paperwork correctly, and the situation is resolved. I would also like an apology for the inconvenience as well.
