Cross & Lafayette Self Storage Reviews (3)

We are sending this in response to the letter we received from you yesterday, concerning case ID [redacted] , [redacted] *** I have enclosed several pieces of documentation The first being a report for her record of payment This just dates back to October 2015, because that is when we implemented this program, however, this coincides with her record of payment since she first rented the storage until, back in She has been habitually late I have also included copies of just of the certified letters we mailed to her, showing that she refused to claim them at the post office We finally decided to send her emails informing her of her lateness, of which she responded various times For her to say that she didn't receive emails, is frankly, untrue; clearly she did, or she wouldn't have lodged this complaint Finally, I have included Indiana statue that makes it legal to send her notifications, by email She stated that she requested this information, but again this is untrue What motivation would it serve us to refuse to send this to her We have had a lot of difficulty with this tenant She repeatedly has failed to pay her rent on time, which then causes her to pay late fees and more At one point, she threatened to physically harm on of our employees, all because he was attempting to collect her rent We have waived fees, made courtesy calls before we emptied her unit, which are not required and tried to work with her several times At this time, we would like for her to get current on her rent and then move out She has been sent notification that she has until 2-23-to get her unit current or after that time, we will dispose of her contents.Sincerely,Dean R***, Management

We are sending this in response to the letter we received from you yesterday, concerning case ID [redacted].  I have enclosed several pieces of documentation.  The first being a report for her record of payment.  This just dates back to October 2015, because that is when we...

implemented this program, however, this coincides with her record of payment since she first rented the storage until, back in 2011.  She has been habitually late.  I have also included copies of just 2 of the certified letters we mailed to her, showing that she refused to claim them at the post office.  We finally decided to send her emails informing her of her lateness, of which she responded various times.  For her to say that she didn't receive emails, is frankly, untrue; clearly she did, or she wouldn't have lodged this complaint.  Finally, I have included Indiana statue that makes it legal to send her notifications, by email.  She stated that she requested this information, but again this is untrue.  What motivation would it serve us to refuse to send this to her.  We have had a lot of difficulty with this tenant.  She repeatedly has failed to pay her rent on time, which then causes her to pay late fees and more.  At one point, she threatened to physically harm on of our employees, all because he was attempting to collect her rent.  We have waived fees, made courtesy calls before we emptied her unit, which are not required and tried to work with her several times.  At this time, we would like for her to get current on her rent and then move out.  She has been sent notification that she has until 2-23-17 to get her unit current or after that time, we will dispose of her contents.Sincerely,Dean R[redacted], Management

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have included a picture to prove it refused my payment. When I spoke with Dean he stated once the $190 is paid and the storage is cleaned out and he looks at the unit he would refund $20. I will remove this complaint once this is completed. Until then I would like for this to stay open until it is done.    I just got off the phone with Dean the owner and he told me that he don't send or write the emails. He stated in his response that I didn't request for the information that they just provided about it being legal until I made this complaint when I did request it over the phone and the gentleman I spoke to that day said no he wasn't going to argue with me.  However he said he don't no the whole story and couldn't tell me when I stated I would harm someone, I let him know I was at a doctors office with my daughter which would have been 1/25/17 when this all occurred and I tried to pay the $170 that Friday and it refused my payment. I have included proof of what it has done the last few times I have tried to pay online. He also stated in his response that they have waived fees which is incorrect, the only fee they have ever given back is when I first started the storage and that was because one of there employees did remove a lock meaning I couldn't get into my storage for a week because they never did there part by removing it. I have never threatened to physically harm any employee in that office. I can go in there and tell you the guy that has always helped me there since 2011. So now at this point they are trying to make up things so it don't look bad on them.  Thank you,[redacted]
