Abe's Paint N Body*** ** ***Universal City, TX***Hey, this is *** ***, manager at Abe's Paint & Body.Concerning *** ***:*** *** came into our shop sometime in July wanting an all-over paint job on his truck Our shop was completely full of hail jobs and we
couldn't squeeze his business in I told him that, but he was begging and laughing about it all -- he wasn't in a hurry -- he'd do all of the "remove & install" that was needed and would pay cash He started laying out cash and begging until it was just embarrassing to turn him down It was very cute at the time I took the job He knew the situation that we were in (as well as every other body shop in the city) Nobody had time for an extra all-over paint job He came up every so often to check on the truck He had us do some modifications to the metal -- we cut holes for his side mirrors and filled in old holes from the old side mirrors (on his front doors).The job usually runs about $6,-- he wanted us to do the job for $4,cash and he would do all the labor, all we had to do was paint and fix a few hail dents It wasn't a bad deal if he did all the labor on the job and we did just a few hail dents and paint.*** *** did not do all the labor We ended up taking lots of parts off and putting them back on the truck, including a ranch hand bumper that was welded on and took no small amount of time to remove He had brought us fenders to replace his hail damaged fenders that were on the truck They were more damaged than the ones on the truck and we agreed (*** & I) that we would just fix the fenders (something that was not in our original deal) He was also originally going to bring us a new tail gate He never did that and our body tech fixed it -- that was nine extra hours of labor just to take out all of the dents.*** *** never showed up to help "remove and install" any of the pieces that were in the original deal -- I believe he took off the headlamps and the emblems? That was probably all the labor he ever did on the truck He bought his own replacement pieces (like headlamps and emblems), and we didn't have to replace those parts -- he installed those pieces himself.It wasn't too long before Mr*** started showing up and rambling about how we weren't doing anything and he was doing all the labor and we should discount him another $or $ He sounded crazy and pretended like he didn't remember the dealor even remember what he had donewhat we had done It didn't make any sense at all. We had already discounted the job about $2,and he already wasn't living up to his end of the deal As I mentioned before, I honored the $4,cash price from our end anyway.He turned very nasty for the last months we dealt with him In the end, he wasn't going to pay the balance He would walk out to our shop and intimidate the body technicians The office girls and I just went in and hid in the back of the shop and let *** deal with him while he yelled obscenities at the business One time, *** mother came outside and told him to quit screaming cuss words and a fight nearly broke out between the family and that hostile man when he raised his hand toward Mrs***.He yelled in front of our customers and employees that I (***) was a drunk and a drug addict He yelled in front of our customers and employees that *** (the owner) was a liar, a thief, and a wetback.He yelled in front of our customers and employees that the paint job "sucked" (also in front of Mr*** who worked very hard on the paint job) The paint job was very good Very good And professional.:(That night we called the police and did not release his truck because he demanded to take his truck without payingor at least getting more of a discount because of a very sorry job:(He wrote on *** and on our company *** the same offensive slander. *** removed his remarks and blocked him from our page due to foul language, bullying, slander, and racial slurs.You can probably still read the racial slurs and the slander to *** and me (***) on *** (We should sue him for slander He is a jerk).He came in on a Saturday and paid the balance and picked up his truck He was verbally abusive and threatened to sue us. I took about pictures of the truck before he left with it.A few days later, he called *** and said he accidentally left the blue tape (from around his new windshield) on his pickup cab too long on the fresh paint and some of it came off He asked *** to fix it and promised to remove his horrible remarks off of *** if he would help him *** agreed to help him and our shop did some paint fix around the windshield.I took dozens of pictures of his truck again and the trailer and equipment attached to it while it was back the second time I think he has accused US of scratching his new paint, but the scratches are on the truck where he installed his new pieces on the truck (I have proof in the photos, remember) When he came back to pick up the truck, he did the same ranting and raving thing to *** as he had done before He verbally abused and threatened *** and finally *** called him out as a bully and offered to let *** *** take the first punch and put his hands behind his back and stuck out his chin *** *** screamed "You're ugly! I'm gonna sue you!" and jumped in his truck and drove away.Like that. That is our experience with *** ***.If I have missed ANYTHING regarding this complaint against us, please let me know I have the final repair order that explains all the free stuff we did for the agreed-upon price and all the discounts he got on the job I have pictures, sooooo many of them, that will show the excellent job Abe's Paint & Body did on that truck.
