First off, I'd like to warn everyone and anyone that cares to read this not to fall for these people's lies. They'll promise you the stars, moon and everything else in between, and won't go through with any of it. Second, they'll send you these "contractors" to "rebuild" your house. They'll tell you they'll take care of everything, and won't do that either. Once their so-called contractors start work, it's spotty, at best. When you start having concerns, they'll brush them off, and will give you the run around. You'll call one person, only to be told to call another. You'll get sent to voicemail, and then your calls won't be returned. When you try to fire the so;called contractor, you'll get told that can't be done, and instead be told to call a meeting to fix things. Even meetings don't help. Nothing you do or say will fix anything. If you have a problem with anyone, that person will blame it on someone else, and the cycle never breaks. Everything they do is a lie. They don't even give you the option to seek legal advice, because they are "for the people" They claim to help you more than your own insurance would if you went directly to your insurance after something happens to your house. After they get the money they fight for, they take a ten percent from what you're supposed to be getting. On top of that, the contractors take the whole check the insurance sends for the repairs that are supposed to be done to your house. They don't even tell you you can pay them half now, and the other half after the project is done. The contracts these adjustors and contractors draw up are full of loopholes, and will have many unanswered questions. You'll be told you can have whatever you want done to your house, but when it comes down to it, the contractors will start asking for more and more money, claiming they need to pay for additional things, which weren't included in your contract to begin with, and they then justify it by saying it's the city's fault. Oh, but that's not all, the public adjustors then wipe their hands clean by saying they can't do anything, because the contractors have their own company. Please, whatever you do, don't ever go through public adjustors to get any rebuilds, contents restoration, or money from your insurance. My family and I learned this the hard way after having our own house fire. almost 3 years later, and we're still not in our house. My best advice to you is to just go through your own insurance company and fight for what you need that way. I would never recommend Cross Check Public adjustors to anyone, not even my worst enemy.
