Finally, a gym worth joining! The coaches are very knowledgeable and supportive. I was a little intimidated due to the high level athletes I saw during my first visit and assessment. Once I came to class I realized there are all types of people and most members are just trying to get back in shape.

I used a personal trainer for years on and off and I would get results but sort of plateau, get frustrated by lack of results and give up for a while. The CrossFit coaches have helped me understand how to break through that plateau using different muscle groups and varying my workout. They even call me when I don't show up...which is a pain in the you know what, but I really do need that and they keep me on track. :)

This gym is 100 bucks a month for as many training sessions as you can handle with no hidden fees. You can just cancel without sending letters or adopting off your first born child as most big gyms now all try to scam you into an extra month it seems. I pay far less now than I paid my personal trainer. I was paying 40 bucks per one hour session, 3 times a week so around 480 per month not counting the monthly member fee. At 100 bucks a month I can go to 2 classes every day if I want at this gym...what a deal!

Highly recommended for anyone who is serious about getting back in shape. I would not join this gym if you expect to just get on a treadmill or do a super light workout. They will help you ramp up at a pace you can handle but they definitely push you to see results... I'm stronger and look better at 34 than I did in my 20s.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/06/10) */
Attached is the original purchase order, along with the electronic copy regarding the unwarranted complaint. Both were signed by[redacted]. The purchase order states clearly what she is purchasing, the quantity of 4 "one-on-ones", it is also...

stated exactly what those sessions will consist of. The squat, push, pull and Olympic series. At the bottom of the purchase order it includes the total of $300.[redacted] then signs her name on the written purchase order as well as the electronic copy. She bought 4 "one-on-one's" for $75 each, totaling $300.
ALWAYS, after a client's last "one on one", they enter the classes, and that's when the monthly dues begin for $100. After her final "one on one",which she claims she didn't attend, she was billed for her first month of dues.
Amy clearly new this was going to happen, for she put a card on file with us for billing purposes.
Not soon after, we received an email stating that she was changing job positions, that she was no longer going to be able to be a member with the gym. We have emails documenting our efforts put forth trying to contact[redacted], regarding our response. No response. No response until she disrupted a class demanding her $100 back, stating that b/c she didn't attend any classes, why should she get billed? This is a business of over 200 clients, for you attendance doesn't dictate the price, that would be hard to control from a business stand. The goal coming into this gym, was to get into the classes, where it is unlimited sessions for a flat fee. It's a pretty simple system.
We feel bad for[redacted], not being able to attend the classes due to work. We will reimburse $100 for the month of March. I due hope it's not out of spite that she is asking for $250. For that number is completely falsified. $75 each for a personal training session (one-on-one) equals $300. One month of classes equals $100. She is claiming the sessions are $50 each and that she paid for a month in advance? On the receipt, it clearly states what she paid for, there is nothing stating a month of dues is included or was paid in advance. I'm really not sure what else I can say toward this matter. Am I supposed to rebuttal me yelling at her? or not answering phone calls? I think it's unwarranted to the fullest, that the numbers and signed receipt speak for themselves. I shouldn't have to clear slander accusations especially toward a small business that helps so many.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 15, 2014/06/26) */
The response from[redacted] is really unfortunate. Not only do I have recordings of his calls (including his message stating that they are issuing me a refund), I have complete documentation contrary to his comments. I have yet to receive any refund for the overpaid amounts. My next step will to contact CrossFit Corporate, which he is affiliated with. I was hoping that he would operate in a more responsible manner. No, this issue is not yet resolved.
Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2014/07/11) */
I attached previously, the signed purchase order and the signed agreement that[redacted] agreed to. However, upon further council, we decided to provide[redacted] with a complete refund. We needed this to be documented first. For this case is exhausting on a small business, we now know what to look for when allowing participants into our private facility. I consider this matter closed. I will attach the refund receipts along with any other documentation needed to put this matter to an end. Thank you for your time.
Business Response /* (2000, 21, 2014/07/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
After my previous update on 6/26, I also left[redacted] a message as a courtesy, indicating that his refund still had not been processed. Undisputed Strength / Cross Fit Joliet provided me with my full refund; a portion on 6/27/14 and the remaining portion on 7/2/14. Thank you for assisting in bringing resolution to this matter.
