Review: After moving out of apartment #157 on June 30, 2015, I was billed for carpet replacement of the entire apartment. Mgmt stated that there was "heavy urine throughout". I do have one mature cat who has never, ever, urinated on the floor at this apartment or anywhere in his entire life as he has been litter box trained since kittenhood. I paid a pet deposit of $300 and I feel that management is trying to intimidate me just because I have a pet. The apartment was left clean (no charges) and only required a partial paint ($72.45) and unpaid utilities ($208.25) because the Company was always three months behind in billing. I paid $400 security deposit. I lived there 2 years, and the carpet was not replaced when I moved in in June 2013. There were no stains or odor when I moved in. There were no stains or odors anywhere on the carpet when I moved out effective June 30, 2015. Their claim is fraudulent and unethical. I have many people who visited me and a friend who helped me do the final clean - no stains at all; only normal usage wear. The assumption that a pet equals damages is false. Also, I was not notified of these supposed huge stains in order to see what they were claiming; only billed; therefore denied to see any evidence against me. A new tenant has already moved in and the suspect carpet disposed of. Lastly, I and my witnesses know that there were no stains of their accused magnitude on the carpet in apartment 157 when I turned the keys in on June 30. Management has calculated to keep my $700 deposit and also billing me for an additional $720.18 This complex contracts with Carpet Technologies who made the determination of damages - therefore a conflict of interest regarding replacement. Again, no real evidence only statements of persons who would have a financial gain in this transaction.Desired Settlement: Billing adjustment including a statement showing the resolution and a refund of the balance of my deposits = $419.30 and no further contact.
