I do appreciate the direct response from MrCrotty to this complaint. I do regret that it has taken this degree of effort to receive a response from a responsible party at Crotty & Associates. As a matter of background, I can say that I have never previously pursued a complaint via Revdex.com against any business in the past. Indeed, I have never had a business create a situation where I felt the need to do so before.I would point out that the only public review of Crotty & Associates is a negative one on Google Reviews, with an assertion similar to my complaint, which reads "Poor communicationThey never return phone calls nor do they follow through-- by *** ***" As I will reiterate below, I find the public display of dissatisfaction with a business unseemly, and would much rather proceed through these formal channels with the Revdex.com as an honest broker. I genuinely respect MrCrotty's right to pursue a well-run business venture, and this should not be brought into question without good cause. As emails between myself and our new Insurance Broker (the *** Group) indicate, my preference was to allow the reasons for our leaving Crotty & Associates to simply lie, and simply vote with our feet by leaving their group. [I am happy to provide these emails to Revdex.com upon request, and I am attaching the original signed termination form, originally sent 12/12/17, and subsequently resent by *** Group on multiple occasions]As a professional myself, I strongly believe in handling things in a responsible, private and civilized manner. For this reason, I have purposely not taken the effort to pursue a separate formal complaint regarding the Crotty & Associates group's failure to follow through on directives to change our Auto Insurance over to a new vehicle in April 2017, as well as again to a second new vehicle in August 2017. This left our family of without Auto Insurance coverage on either our active vehicles for this time frame (months, and month, respectively), unbeknownst to us, and with misleading reassurances from representatives of Crotty via folltelephone calls that "everything has been processed, and nothing further needs to be done." This clearly undermined our trust in Crotty & Associates, and we actively sought out a new Independent Insurance Broker. I will make the point that I have not pursued this separate issue privately or publicly to date, either with Revdex.com or the ODI.To address specific points made by MrCrotty:--When Voicemail messages went unanswered by his group in August 2017, my goal with contacting his group has been to speak with a live person/receptionist. This has been surprisingly difficult, as noted by myself but also *** Insurance on occasions. In order for *** to pursue a forced termination of policy, they needed to ensure that the Broker's Office was unable to be reached during business hours. I held on the line while they confirmed that no one was answering the phone during working hours on two occasions. On both occasions, *** was able to proceed in helping me document and advance a Unilateral forced cancellation due to the failure of Crotty & Associates to answer their phone during working hours.--With respect to the email allegedly sent 12/13/by Kathie L***, I can confirm that no such email was received at the email address "***@iname.com", either to main Inbox or Spam folder. I find no explanation for the absence of this email. I can confirm by review of my Cell and Home Phone's call log that no incoming phone call to these numbers were placed from a Crotty & Associates phone number between 12/01/and the present time (02/03/18), despite ongoing written requests to terminate the policy in question.--Due to the lack of action from Crotty & Associates in terminating the Home Insurance Policy after repeated requests via submission of the LPR form, *** described to me that they were taking what they stated was the "unusual step" of a unilateral cancellation of policy with a refund check issued directly from *** thereafter. This occurred after greater than month of efforts to terminate the policy through conventional channels with Crotty & Associates. As already stated, I was provided with reassurances over the phone from Crotty & Associates that in fact a cancellation had been processed, which in fact upon review by *** revealed that this was not the case.--With no guidance from Crotty & Associates, inability to consistently reach them by phone both by myself and *** Insurance, and no apparent response to repeated written requests to terminate the policy, we were left to wonder if Crotty & Associates were even still operating a working Business. Concern for the recoverability of our $2,premium became a bizarre but real consideration. Mr Crotty's statement of an in-house policy of delaying issuing proceeds of a refunded Premium until vague "procedures and protocols" have been followed is understandably difficult to follow. Certainly, our Auto and Umbrella policies serviced via Crotty & Associates through *** were terminated at great speed, and with only a single request in December 2017, with confirmatory mailed letters following only days after initial request.--With respect to Matthew D***, our original agent, I met with him
in-person in to discuss our Insurance needs, and spoke with him
perhaps twice between and on routine matters. He seemed a
nice gentleman, but I have no strong feelings or loyalties for him, and
certainly am no advocate for him. I have no knowledge for his reasons for parting ways with Crotty & Associates. Retaliation is an absurd and
inaccurate presumption here, with no basis in reality whatsoever.--My mislabeling MrCrotty as John, rather than Joseph, is fully my
honest mistake. Having not been presented the option to ever speak
with him or meet him in person, we are not as closely associated as we
might be.I do appreciate the chance to share these details of our dealings with Crotty & Associates. It has taken more of my personal time than I would have liked, but if nothing else I do hope that is can lead MrCrotty to review his personnel and procedures in response. There was a real and consistent failure of this company to provide access and service to my Family, as their Insured customers. I shudder to think what might have happened had we had a minor or serious accident while our current vehicles were uninsured in mid-to-late 2017, although that is outside of the scope of this complaint. My only reason in pursuing this is to alert MrCrotty to the manner in which his business is being run, and so that he can correct this if his employees are not living up to acceptable standards of practice. I would hope that he would not dismiss such complaints or try to trivialize them -- they are real, legitimate, and based in fact.Certainly, those with whom I have shared this -- and reluctantly shared, I would add -- have been equally dismayed and troubled, including his peers (The *** Group), his Insuring Partners (*** Insurance), and apparently other customers on public review sites.I wish MrCrotty the best of luck in reviewing his business model and personnel, and making improvements wherever he finds that his customers are being failed at present
Respectfully,
*** ***

Dear Revdex.com--I have attached the requested .jpg file of the letter received from *** Insurance confirming the successful cancellation of the Home Insurance Policy. You can see that it is dated January 18, 2018, or five days after my final telephone conversation with them requesting a unilateral cancellation of the policy on 01/13/18. We have companion letters from *** for both the Auto and Umbrella policies dated January 2nd 2018, confirming cancellation of these policies -- both of which were processed through Crotty & Associates without delay. I have no explanation to date why the Home policy was not processed through Crotty & Associates, especially when this was not the case for the Auto and Umbrella policies.A check arrived from *** on 01/20/in the amount of $2164.00, the full amount of the annual premium. Again, this was after the second direct appeal by phone to *** (on 01/13/18) for resolution.I hope this is helpful to you, and your help is greatly appreciated
