Review: On August 5, 2013 I entered the business and a salesman came out and showed me some vehicles and he said I came by at a good time because they were starting a sale Thursday and he would get the boss to give us the sales price. He stated that they were really having a good sale on Thursday. So I inquired about a [redacted] and the salesman gave us a price then he went to the boss andy and he came back saying the salesman had given price to wrong vehicle the price was 15900.00. I asked what about sales price for Thursday he says the people Thursday will take your information and sell the car at a higher price, advised none of that came up in the conversation outside. So I left. On Thursday, a salesman by the name of [redacted] answered, I told him about what I was told he told me oh no that man just wanted you to buy car that day. He asked if I could come back call him before I got there so no other salesman would get to me first so he asked me what I was driving so he would be looking out. Got there we test drove car, looked under hood the salesman walk off there was smoke coming from hood and car had insulation cover on parts under hood. He claimed he did not see any smoke he smelled something but he did not have glasses on . He did not say much at all I kept asking why was car smoking he claimed he did not know but was very quiet his reactions was like he was hiding something. Si I asked about price he goes over to [redacted] comes back with 15900.00. I told him that was same price as Monday, he said well he has to go without what the manager said plus I had been in on Monday. Well I told him he knew all this from our telephone call on Thursday but he claimed I had been given incorrect information and he would work out a good deal to please one back. Well the guy Monday lied and [redacted] lied plus he was covering up what was wrong with the vehicle. When I popped the hood he went inside the store and it was obvious he knew something but was not telling me. The people lie to their customer.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology for all the lies that the salesman told and they should be sited for giving false information and covering up damages on vehicles. I would like a reimbursement for my gas and compensated for my wasted time as the salesman point blank lied of what he could do and I drove all the way back up there and I live in[redacted]. If he knew that he had to go with what manager said he should have told me. He made it seem like he made the decision.

After meeting with every employee that was involved with the incident I am recreating what according to everyone’s recollection happened and also using the information provided to me by the Revdex.com involving the incident between [redacted] and employees of Crowell Motor Company.

On August 5, 2013 [redacted] and two of her children arrived at Crowell Motor Company to possibly purchase a vehicle for her son who was with her. She was met by [redacted] who asked what type of vehicles they had interest in. She responded that they were buying a vehicle for her son and the interest was in a pre-owned[redacted]. We had six in inventory and after looking at several she had specific interest in a [redacted] and refused to drive the vehicle and proceed further until she was given a price. [redacted] responded that he thought the retail price on the vehicle was about $19,000 but would discuss the vehicle she had selected with the Sales Manager and discuss price. She and her family proceeded into[redacted] office. [redacted] had the sales manager [redacted] meet with [redacted] and her family immediately and after a discussion about the car they had selected he priced the vehicle to them at $15,900 which did not include cost of titling and taxes. [redacted] discussed the price with her son and offered $12,500 for the vehicle because the payment budget that her son required would not allow a vehicle which was priced over $12,500 [redacted] had prepared a payment schedule for her son prior to arrival at Crowell Motor Company and they both felt that $12,500 was the limit that he could afford. The offer was not accepted by [redacted] he thanked her for the visit , explained why he could not accept her offer and [redacted] and her family left.

[redacted] called Crowell Motor Company by phone the following Thursday and was greeted by a different salesman [redacted]. He suggested she come to the store and drive the vehicle and he would discuss price with management. She arrived on Thursday and [redacted] retrieved the keys and offered a test drive. [redacted] drove the vehicle and stated that she saw smoke coming from the vehicle. She confronted [redacted] about the smoke which he honestly replied he did not see any. After opening the hood during the demonstration she pointed out a small identification chalk mark on a hose which she identified as the problem. She quickly began calling[redacted] a liar, who had done nothing other than what she had asked and he attempted to completed the demonstration. He quoted her the price of $12,500 and asked that he be allowed to discuss the price again with management. After repeatedly calling him and others at Crowell Motor Company liars she left.

Upon leaving [redacted] discussed what had happened with management and it was decided that [redacted] had become so confrontational that further negotiations about price or the vehicle that she had interest was no longer necessary or productive for either parties involved

After receiving this complaint from Revdex.com I discussed the incident with everyone involved and inspected the vehicle personally with them. We revisited the [redacted] again and found it to be a 1-owner vehicle, all service records up to date, all maintenance records included, and no accidents or damage reported. An absolutely sterling record of the vehicle. The salesmen pointed out the chalk mark that [redacted] had complaints about which was about the size of a dime. After a thorough inspection of the vehicle I found no problems mechanically or otherwise.

I see no reason that [redacted] would have any complaints about either visit to Crowell Motor Company with her family or the interaction with any employee as we only did exactly what she requested other that accept her offer of $12,500 for the vehicle.

The vehicle was sold on the following Tuesday to a local family who has been contacted with a courtesy follow up call after the purchase and found to be absolutely satisfied with the vehicle and the purchase.

Attached with this response is the [redacted] report on this vehicle, a photo of the engine compartment pointing out the chalk mark, and also a copy of the bill of sale to another customer of the vehicle in question with identification and price stricken.

Although [redacted] mentions in her complaint that she had spoken to an [redacted] in the negotiations, I am the only [redacted] at the dealership and never had any contact or conversation with [redacted]. I would welcome [redacted] to call or allow me to call her to discuss any problems she may have.
