Initial Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2015/11/19) */
Received return call from [redacted] of Crown Eagle Autos, providing business response to complaint.
Mr [redacted] says he is not specifically familiar with Mr [redacted], but says he is familiar with [redacted] transport, and has...
primarily been dealing with someone named Barbara there.
He says [redacted] agreed to deliver his load through a third party called One Dispatch -- says the load had specific orders on it as to the date by which the two vehicles had to be picked up, and a date by which they had to be delivered.
Mr [redacted] says when [redacted] did not show at the specified date / time, he contacted Barbara. Says he heard a number of different explanations for the delay at that time -- an accident in IL, snow in WI.
He says he negotiated with Barbara at that time, and she agreed to a figure of $800, vs the original $1400 ($700 X 2 vehicles). When the vehicles eventually arrived about 3 days late, he says the driver told him if Crown Eagle didn't pay the 'full' $1400, he'd have to take the cars back to CT.
Mr [redacted] says he then contacted Barbara at [redacted], who was now insistent that he pay the full $1400. He contacted his agent at One Dispatch, who advised that he should write a check for the full $1400 and subsequently cancel it, so as to bring [redacted] back to the negotiating table, or get them to honor the $800 figure.
He says he has reached out to Barbara as recently as about a month ago to see if the two parties can reach some sort of agreement, but [redacted] seems unwilling to accept the $800 figure.
Mr [redacted] says he is still willing to discuss possible resolutions with [redacted], so as not to have to take the company to court. But he feels that the original $1400 figure is out of the question, given the delay in delivery (says he lost sales due to the delay), and that even the $800 discussed does not seem as reasonable to him now, given his experience with [redacted] over the past several months.
