First room we stayed in -- toilet stopped working -- no one on call to fix it and had to scream at manager for about two hours to get another room. There were also ants in the bathroom of both rooms we stayed in. The next room had no handicap accessible bathing facilities and we were told that there was no other room available. We could not bathe until we got home on Friday. The carpets in the rooms and hallways were filthy and smelled of old grease. These people assured us that their entire hotel was handicap accessible which was not true. There was no effort made to accommodate us as handicapped people when we requested assistance. The night manager did not even suggest moving us to another room at first -- she was going to have us stay in a room with no toilet facilities and ants in the bathroom.Desired SettlementI want the rest of my money back ($500.00). These rooms were dirty and had insects in them. No one should be asked to stay in a room with no toilet facilities. Handicapped people should be given handicapped bathing facilities when requested. Business Response It is our goal to consistently provide superior service and accommodations. We greatly appreciate the feedback we receive because it enables us to target problem areas and take the necessary actions to ensure similar situations can be avoided in the future. Regarding this claim, the complainants did report to us that they had an issue with the toilet functioning improperly after 11:00pm on the 2nd night of there stay with us. During the overnight hours our property is limited with engineering staff due to extreme low call service volume. Another team member did attempt to service the guest but was unsuccessful which caused us to move the guest at 12 midnight which the guest agreed verses another room only to utilize the bathroom facilities until we could properly fix the toilet issue on the next morning. The guests were contacted by a member of management on the next morning to follow up on their issues from the night before. Upon meeting with the guests they did express their dissatisfaction with how the team member from the night before handled the situation without a sense of urgency. We did apologize on the team members behalf and addressed the situation with the team member involved. It was not expressed to us concerning insects in either of the rooms nor the cleanliness issues. During the conversation with the member of management we offered to move the guest into another room that was wheelchair accessible but they declined and stated that they were comfortable where they were for the remaining of their stay. Our hotel does meet all ADA requirements and we do have the required number of ADA rooms. We offered a one night refund due to the inconvenience of the move upon meeting with the guest and they accepted the suggested compensation. No other complaints were made for the following two nights of the stay. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Toilet was not broken on the first night; however, the sink took forever to drain. There are serious plumbing problems throughout the building. We were NEVER moved back into the other room and no one suggested we do so. What do you expect out of these people? Of course I told them about the filth AND the ants. I don't care if the minimum ADA requirements are met. I am now going to file complaints with the Attorney General of Tennessee and with the US Justice Department's ADA Section. This was more than an inconvenience. These people are nothing but a group of lazy, negligent liars who cover up for each other. We all know the type typical for them. In addition I am going to complain to all the ADA support groups in the [redacted] area. We would have changed hotels but there but unbeknownst to us (we aren't BASKETBALL FANS) there were thousands of people in [redacted] during that time for the basketball playoffs. There were no other rooms available at the time. No one at this filthy hole was willing to help us find another hotel. Thank you Crowne [redacted] for a ruined vacation!
