Where Crunch Fitness Brantford takes a step forward, it takes two steps backwards. Initially during its opening (Fall 2018), the gym started off great with a lot of interest and buzz.

However, moving forward, the employees are never seen cleaning / wiping down equipment. For a large gym, they have very limited & overflowing garbage bins & paper towel / sprays. Equipment is dirty & greasy to the touch, indications of lack of cleanliness. More foot traffic requires more maintenance, although this gym doesn't care for keeping their equipment & machines clean.

During peak hours parking is overflowing, causing members to park on the grass or other business' parking. It is uncertain but it seems highly likely that the gym is overselling memberships beyond their maximum capacity. To the point where it augments the problems with dirtiness, ease of parking. Online & In-Person, customers & even some employees have agreed with me that it is getting overcrowded, & that the 1 fountain is problematic for a large gym. *** reviews scratch the surface of the issues with cleanliness & un-en-gaged employees.

The result is a massive health risk for people to get sick, as this creates a large breeding ground for sickness if the place isn't maintained up to a standard set by many other gyms.

Crunch *** leaves Canadians in the dirt, as they tell me they can't help me & that I must contact the Franchisees. I contact the Franchisees & they don't do customer service. Leaving the only option the gym. I contact the gym & they admit to high traffic & uncleanliness but won't do anything to reimburse / waive the cancellation fee or help in any way.

Crunch Brantford has forgotten the Golden rules of any business. To treat your customers with decency, to deliver excellent service, & to uphold your standards as a Gym. There's no one to speak to to resolve issues above the franchise. Emails on the website just get forwarded to the manager of the gym you've contacted.

Very dissatisfied with the service at this gym.

Desired Outcome

I would like to have my membership & my brother's membership canceled, & $100 termination fee waived, as I don't believe it's ethical or justified for me to keep paying or to pay a cancellation fee while the business is not maintaining a level of cleanliness. I wish the best for this business, its employees, & the attending customers, however I also am voicing my opinion and many others' opinions regarding the health hazards associated to the problems going on.

We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with facility and service. We thank you for the feedback with regards to the cleanliness. We assure you that the required cleaning is being completed daily and we will review further to determine if an increase or service is required. With regards to your cancellation request, all cancellations are handled at the club level with one of our Member Service Representatives. All cancellations must follow the terms and conditions laid out in the membership agreement. At this time if you are requesting an early cancellation then a fee would be applicable. Please contact your home club manager for further assistance.

I appreciate the response, & that actions will be taken to improve the quality of the center. However, I was simply asking to have my termination fee waived or at the very least reduced, because it isn't fair to state "All cancellations must follow the terms and conditions laid out in the membership agreement", while also enabling an environment that could make your employees & customers sick.

Your response is void of a solution.

"At this time if you are requesting an early cancellation then a fee would be applicable. Please contact your home club manager for further assistance." - I have spoken to over 3 employees including the home club manager, providing the necessary information & also asking for the head office which doesn't seem to exist, so I've contacted the establishment more than enough.

How about instead of copy paste response, you help maintain your existing customers, which is harder than acquiring new ones, & you meet your existing customers (me), with a reasonable solution?

We are sorry that you do not agree with our policies and that you are disappointed with our response. We are more than happy to keep you as a member however, you stated that you wish to cancel therefore we provided the information for cancellation.
As stated previously, you would be responsible for the early cancellation fee. This fee will not be waived or reduced.
Once your early cancel fee has been paid, we can proceed with an immediate cancellation.
