I joined the gym sept. 2017 and I am relocating to *** in July 2018. I went to my gym and spoke to a manager about moving at the end of june and stating I need to cancel my account . The manager gave the permission to the front desk clerk to let me cancel my account with no problems or no cancellation fee. I signed their contract and was told the my cancellation was complete January 9 2018 and that in June 15 2018 was my last payment. I just received an email from head office stating that I cannot cancel until September 2018 or I have to pay a cancellation fee. I am disgusted because I spoke to the head office *** and she said that I never spoke to a manager at my gym and that the information I had was incorrect and that I have to pay regardless of what I think happened. I stated that I was assured by my gyms manager and front desk clerk that this manner was handled . She then stated she talked to a manger and they said they never spoke to me . I am furious ***. I am now going today jan. 19 2018 cancel my account because I did not deserve to be mistreated and lied to ***. I signed a cancellation form and was told at my gym the matter was finished and head office says the contract I signed was not a contract and that it was just a form to be sent to head office to be determined. I was not told this at my gym that the document I signed was to be sent to head office. I was told by a manager and front desk clerk that my last payment was in June 2018. I feel they went back on their word and gave me a second story after the matter was handled

Refund I want my 100 dollars back for the cancellation fee I am paying for because I had a managers approval of a free cancellation fee.

I accept the response because the company aggreed to terminate my membership to original terms that were given to me on the day I requested termination aswell as the same day I was reasured by the manager .I am so happy they decided to retract their statements and decisions made to me after our original aggreements were made and documented.I am so happy they corrected their behaviour against me and corrected the terms .It is only because of my official complaint to Revdex.com fhat I received my original deal aggreed to .Thank you Revdex.com for your fast response to my comllaint and thank you for helping me to get the fair and respectful treatment I deeserve.

I was promised the sauna would be repaired shortly after signing contract, which was the only reason I signed. It is still unfixed over a year later!
They used false information and promises to get contracts signed and had no intention in following through. Now, after trying to cancel and I cannot. It's unfair that I signed up based on the sauna and now they keep taking money at varying amounts!

Desired Outcome

I want them to stop taking money. I want the contract voided.

UNFORTUNATELY AS THIS WAS MAILED WE DID NOT RECEIVE LETTERS UNTIL JAN 9, 2018 - MEMBERSHIPS ARE NOT BASED ON THE SAUNA ALONE - WE CANNOT ASSIST THIS MEMBER AT THIS TIME DUE TO AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE ON THE ACCOUNT - ONCE THE MEMBER HAS BROUGHT THEIR ACCOUNT BACK TO GOOD STANDING WE CAN LOOK AT ASSISTING FURTHER - THANK YOU

Request to cancel was done in the summer 2017 and "lost". I owe no fees as my account was up to date at original cancellation. Membership is not based on sauna alone but sauna was promised upon agreeing to membership, as was prompt equipment repairs. I was mislead upon signing.

I should not and will not pay for any time where I had already provided a request to cancel, which is where the balance owing comes from. This business is unorganized, deceitful and just plain ***. I suggest no one gets into a contract with them because they will continue to try to take money even after you cancel; and then lie and say you never cancelled.

changed ownership/name to Crunch Fitness without notifying me and were still able to withdrawal the monthly fees from my bank account under new name (without having me consent) When I contacted them via phone once I noticed the withdrawal were under a different name and wanted to know what has taken place. I was informed that all contracts transferred over and that I still needed to come in person to cancel the contract and still provide them 60 days notice to terminate prior to the expiry of the original contract with *** . Upon arrival to cancel the contract as it was up I was told I still needed to give them 60 days notice prior the contract being up therefore they are going to bill me for 2 more months. Managed changed that to one extra month of billing via telephone call between manager and employee. Previous employee left *** and took the clients email addresses with them. The change in either ownership/name failed to uphold their end of the contracts by changing hours of operation as well as failure to notify me via print or email that contract was about to expire. I am unsure as to whom I should file the complaint against - thus filing against both.

Desired Outcome

Refund As the new company whether ownership or just name change did not have my authorization to continue to withdrawal funds from my account and yet still did and since I was not properly notified of any changes I request a complete refund dating back to Sept. when the withdrawals coming out of my bank account were under the new name

On Aug 26th an announcement was made re: the conversion to CRUNCH - this was done VIA email and in club notices - We are still the same legal business entity and number - only our name and affiliation have changed - no changes to the contract were made - no changes to the club operating hours were made - everything is still the same just a different name - no approval for refund will be granted as there are no grounds - Thank you.

The company indicates correspondence send via email and club notices - which I have never received either. Changes to the contract were made as previously mentioned - hours of operation - contract stats 24 hrs 7 days a week - not now ! When I called originally over the phone back in Aug. when I first noticed the withdrawals for membership were under a new name. NO ONE ever vocalized any information as to changes in progress just that I needed to come in person but due to the hour changes of operation and my work schedule that made it impossible . When I finally got to get there my signature appeared on a new contract for Crunch - which I have NEVER signed. Word of month is a powerful entity. Refund back dating to Aug. 2017 when conversion took place is what I am requesting and immediate cancellation of the Automatic Withdrawals from my bank account as be threatened by the employee that if I were to put a stop payment at the bank they would simply register me with the Credit Bureau.
